Cheeky\'est thread ever, but I just had to do it!!

Can\'t believe I\'m acutally doing this but the curiousity has been on me. The sun dosn\'t rise or set on my score\'s and the top 10 list, but it is fun to every now and then \'hit one out of the park\' (Yank term for something spectacular happening). I\'m not in a funk or enraged, and no I don\'t think I\'m the best thing since sliced bread, just surprised and curious.

How is it that my steam dragon didn\'t make the top 10?

Beats me, but you are a veteran of this site, and know how unbalanced the scores are, I constantly think my minis deserve to be higher than they are, but I guess I am in the minority:mad:

Just be glad people like it, and it will make money.

Well I marked it a ten because I like the style...

But it IS heavily stylised so some people voted it as merely extraordinary, and not perfect:D

If they didn\'t love the style of it then with it not being painted it\'s tough for someone to give it a ten.

And just to repeat, I did give it a ten. I said earlier it looks to me like something from a Terry Gilliam movie to me.

Good question. I can\'t see it not making the 9s or at worst high 8s (talking legitimate voting here). So the only legit reason I can think of is a very high-scoring week, with enough higher 9s to push it off the top 10.

Original sculpt or not.. its unpainted and that reduces the score for many.

I think a picture of the actual green may of scored higher..

keep in mind many just look at the pic and vote with out reading the text..

Thanx. Interesting take\'s. Hadn\'t considered the style thing. I do tend to lean towards a cartoon/cute style...........not enough brutality!!

Once I actually had this thing in hand and primed I realised this thing is going to be a FREAKIN\' HUGE paint job. I\'ll get there though.

I\'m strongly considering it for a Warhammer EMpire army as a mount for an Engineer....

The style is defo not the norm. That\'s why I love it, but it might not be for everyone.

Top shelf work, and it looks like you survived posting this thread without getting flamed all to get gone too! Kudo\'slol

What\'s next?

Its great work that\'s for sure Shawn. I can really appreciate the talent and effort put into this. However, I feel like what the others said. It\'s not painted, I do not really like dragons, or the steampunk genre, but that\'s just me. So I gave it an 8. Painted one will get a 9 :) :)

Hows about a steam-punk fairy to go with the dragon?!?
And as for the ordinal question, yes I think that it was mostly that it wasn\'t painted. I have the nagging suspicion that some people think that this is a site of painted mini and not just all things mini. But then again, who knows, people can just be fikeld sometimes.

I think most points have been covered, but the lighting in the pic is also pretty dark. I know it\'s virtually impossible to get all the details of an unpainted model some times, but a bit brighter and clearer might have helped things out a little.

Generally though, it\'s rated quite well and I\'m not too surprised it (narrowly) missed on the Top 7 Days list. That list has been a lot weaker the last few months, but has been turning around quite a bit. A month ago, any mid-8\'s were making the list and now you have to push closer to a 9 once again.

Awesome - I quite fancy the sound of that!

Score is not as important as how many dragons get sold - that says a lot more about how much people liked it I think.

I LOVE that dragon and gave it a 9. I\'d love to see you make a steam punk version of that praying mantis with the wins spread that someone posted. hmmmm............I think I have a copy of the pic some where. Hang on...............

I\'d LOVE to paint it up! Can you imagine?

Well following a discussion that\'s been going on in the Moderators Forum can I be slightly cheeky myself and suggest that your \"Social Networking-Fu\" is somewhat off. ;)

I gave it an 8.5. It\'s a great sculpt and I can appreciate that it must have taken blood sweat and tears to make.
