Here\'s a toughy . . .

There are a lot of painters on CMON and for the most part the ratings are pretty much right on target. However, are there any painters who you feel whose work is consistently better than rated?

Now before everyone goes and says that they themselves are underrated, let me, in advance, disallow that as a response . . heh - cheeky devils . . .!

And the tougher part (because we\'re a uniformly pleasant bunch), is there anyone whose minis get way higher votes consistently than they deserve?

I spose that the third option is that, at the end of the day, all minis average out to their correct score . . .


Anyway I throw that out to y\'all for pickin at . . .

I think both Reverends work and Surhalos work is slightly lower than it deserves half point to a point below what it should be.
I mention these two cause I follow thier work consistently.

I dont think anyone here comes to mind as over rated but There are a few painters not on this site (Ebay artists who talk about themselves in the third person) That I would love to see thier minis rated here as I feel there are many painters here who are light years ahead.

Artist, what artist?

I have to say that for the most part I vote on minis without ever looking who the artist is. If a particularly splendid piece of work pops up, I look to see who has painted it, but for 99% of the minis on offer I simply vote on what I see. I do however, look forward to seeing a mini submitted by theorkcollector!

Ooookay, I believe anyone who post their pics in their opinion will like to get a good score some what, it\'s something u can be really proud off. While I can\'t deny the quality work can be good and bad for any painter, it\'s really have yr work (no matter what\'s the score) be seen and share the joys of miniature hobby.

Some of u might disagree, but hell, if I want I can actually create another ten IDs or so and keep giving 10s or 9s score for more not-really-golden-demon-standard kind of work. What do I get? it cheating yrself anyway (and I believe the majority who saw the pics will just vote and lower it to a score the mini deserves).

it\'s about whether yr Mini is Cool Or Not (to some yes, to some no..), not My Mini Is Score 10 or not.

Now that you mention it.....

I\'ve seen some of Jen Haley\'s minis with scores hovering between 5 and 6. Not that I\'m the best judge of painting, mind you. I\'m prone to voting on how well I like the finished mini regardless of who painted it.

And I personally think it\'s pretty despicable to \"vote down\" a mini so it gets the score it \"deserves.\"
