The Tamiya Blood Red really works well.

This is an interesting miniature, looks a bit like a insane Chef Boyardee.

The painting could use a few more highlights to give it some more POP. He seems a bit flat.

I know but I wanted him to look extra bloody ;) you don\'t want to be in this chef\'s kitchen. I have another one and I\'ll make that one clean... I think.

and yes it is from black scorpion miniatures ;)

Thanx everyone, the comments are greatly appreciated.

Very nice :) I think I got to paint it in the future! However I disagree a bit about the blood. It has a nice dark hue but it is still too \"red\" Blood plasma gives a sort of.. yellow undercolour to the blood.. more apparent when you smear it out.

When we do blood for movies we mix equal parts red and yellow food colouring with clear syrup water and something to break the surface tension. Sometimes we add a bit green to make it darker. Even premade blood that you buy is generally too red, That\'s why the blood looks wrong in many action movies.

Good stuff. I think the skin tones could use a bit more highlighting and color and the blood looks a touch \'candy colored\'. Mabey a touch of orange in it?

ok cool, thanx. I keep that in mind for the next time I use blood :)
I have to agree now that the blood does look to red in some places. But as my girlfriend stole the mini (she tought it was cute ??? ) I can\'t retouch it anymore.

I\'ll do better on the next Chef that I have.

*Edit*

the skin has lost some of the highlights on the pic, I still haven\'t mastered that camera of mine ;) But maybe it could do with some stronger highlights.

I like the blood. I think some of the blends need to be smoothed out but overall a nice paint job. very creapy tho.
