Hi Guys,

I have been fairly quiet of late so i though i would post some pics of what i have been up to,

I m gonna enter this bad boy in Golden Demon this year (In hope no real chance lol)

Well here are the pics,








Well i will keep this updated with regular pics and we will see how it goes,

Please let me know whay you think good or bad, and improvements or anything you dont like let me know!!!

Nice conversion, I really like it.
And I\'m always amazed by conversion as I never have the skill nor the imagination to do any kind of conversion.
Looking foward to seeing the paint job on this one, should do good in the GD if the paint job matches the conversion work

Have you read the soul drinkers novels? They are about the soul drinkers, a dying chapter, who have been tainted by chaos and declared excommunicatus by the imperium. They are still loyal to the emperor though and fight against chaos.

Their commander has 8 legs and an arachnid body and I immediatley thought of them when I saw this.

Nice. I reckon it would look even better if your lowered the angle of the gun arm a little..... so he was shooting downwards upon his foes. :twisted:

Sythe is from the new Empire Wizard sprues (btw the sprue is wikkid).

Lord looks awesome, would like to see it fully made and painted.

Really nice conversion.
I am glad you haven\'t done sarpedon from the soul drinkers. I am planning on doing him somtime soon.

Personally I think the right arm/tentacle is a little to think and untextured. And i have to agree with the gun arm.

Apart from that great. Look forward to seeing it at GD.

Wow thanks for the feedback guys,

I have lowered the gun arm and i am currently texturing the tentical arm at the mo,

I am currently undecided on the base,

@Orkydave - i havent read the souldrinkers book yet, i will however, i have only just discovered the books so trying to catch up, reading the Malus darkblade books at the mo.

@Yetie & Dan - that is indeed the sythe top from the empire wizard sprue, i was lucky enough to paint these for my local GW and i always get to keep the left over sprues (ooo yes im a bits hore)

@Roger - thanks for the comments the missus hates spiders, so its thanks to her for the inspiration he he he.

@talonicus - I dont even know who Sarpedon is but i have been told that it resembles what people think he would look like

Right here is the repositioned gun arm, it cant go to low becuase of the front spider leg, what do you think now???





i did a test colour earlier, im not sure about it please let me know,

This is just a test colour so i know the blending is crap just let me know what you think??



Well im gonna get on with sculpting the tenticle arm, i post again soon,

I quite like the pink, but think it would look cool blended frol pink to purple.

As a Games day entry, have you given any thought to replacing the scythe with a banner? would be an excelent opportunity to really go to town with freehand.

I was in two minds wether to suggest this or not, as;-

1- a banner can more often than not really let a piece down if it isn\'t done spot on.

2-The scythe looks really cool!

Just an idea that popped to mind, that I thought I would share (although TBH, not an idea I am 100% sold on myself!)

On the banner idea if your on good terms with your GW store see if they might let you rob one of the back banners from the new flaglants might look good, just a thought. Then you\'v got both

But the though of pinck blended to some dark purple is strangely appeling to me, but I\'m in a purple phase lately

good call dave, i think you are right there, try it but only if you thing you can pull it off well. a lovely piece so far. i wouldn\'t change the tentacle, it looks great as it is, although i would maybe add another, very small one looping out under it.

colour scheme looks cool but i would have some dark lining between the plates. if you\'re not sure, black and yellow is always a classic \'spidery\' colour

This is one awesome conversion, really imaginative and well executed - he looks plain evil.
I think that maybe the white is a little bright for chaos. Wich colors are you going to use on the armour?
