vanilla heterosexuals....

I\'ll tell you what gets my goat..(other than that damn neighborhood wolf, but then again, I really shouldn\'t leave my goat outside after dark)

The little \"warhammer\" correctiveness comments that people leave, usually with a correspondingly low score.

Such as, \"the Space Marine could never be painted that way, because the codex doesn\'t allow for a power fist blah blah blah\" or some such drivel.

OH! and the other goat getting thing is when people leave deceptively intriguing titles to forums posts, that really get me interested....

As of a second ago there are 91 \"une autre figurines\" and almost 460 -YES four hundred and sixty \"another mini\'s\"!!!

This my friends is a travesty . . .! (though actually it\'s 2 percent but they do annoy all out of proportion!)

People seem to think that it\'s wrong to paint something the way \"it\'s suppose to be\". There is nothing wrong with folowing the background material. I tend to give more credit to the person who paints their Dark Elves, Dark Eldar, Chaos...etc...etc... whatever...in dark gothic colors, or give them an evil feel. As opposed to someone who paints Dark Elves in bright day glow colors. :|~

Next worse, are the people who arn\'t mean, but but judge quickly when they know little about anything. I cringed at gamesday when I heard the people next to me say \"aw, dude, look at how huge that axe is! I bet he\'s gonna win!\" and then when a I pointed out Bryan Shaws BEAUTIFUL laughing god, they just made gay jokes about it. UURRGH!
Unfortunatley there are some people with limited intellects and capability for expression who are unable to appreciate good work. Quite possibly they are also unable to express themselves artistically as well. In truth I feel sorry for them as they will probably never be able to fully appreciate the complexity of either our art or languages to their relative full extent.
(Ooops culture vuture moment.)
Thankfully most of them have never heard of Coolminiornot. But there are also some who have never heard of consideration of another viewpoint and use terms to compartmentalise as in \"That\'s gay!\" which discriminates.
A great man once said: \"That to condem without knowledge is bigotry\".

As for the \"Another Mini\" or \"Une Autre Figurine\" annoyance. We need to educate these people to stop doing that. Leave a comment saying why you won\'t vote on the figure until it\'s posted with a proper description or name.

(Chocolate + Lesbians + Finn17 has given me nightmares, all bleeding night!!!!!!!)

I like to see background-painted miniatures, I feel it adds soemthing and may cause me to give a higher score if it\'s particularly well done (e.g. converting a character from a piece of fiction I know).

That said, I don\'t consciously drop the mark of illegally armed minis, especially if they\'re on their own, since they\'re more likely to be a \"painted for fun\" mini that way (whereas a whole squad of 3rd ed space marines with shuriken catapults would not happify me much.)

Anyway, I\'m going to make a pledge. Every \"another mini\" or \"une autre figurine\" I come across now will get no more than a 6, but WILL get a comment asking for a proper title.

There we go. Done.

Sorry for the slightly misleading title..
Got you all looking though didn\'t it
:idea::idea:
From now on I\'m naming all my minis \"Chocolate Lesbians\", and I bet the views (and subsequent votes) will come flowing in ! Thanks Finn for this wonderful idea.

Women in comfortable shoes....

Good grief...this thread is real. Tuubje & Corvus told me about this yesterday, and in my slightly alcoholic state, I didn\'t believe them! lol

I have a concern here - if I like chocolate, does that make me a lesbian ??? I really hope not! I mean I like the idea of Russell Crowe + chocolate or even George Clooney, but definitely not a fellow girlie.......

BTW, I like figures with titles - kinda adds to the feel of the figure - but at the very least it should be the name of the figure. If someone calls their fig \"Another Figure\" it kinda makes me feel that their heart isn\'t really into it, that they aren\'t really bothered. So...on that count, why should I be bothered to vote or leave a comment?!?

Chocolate? Lesbians?!

Oh man, all those misleading titles.... my pals won´t believe if I tell them what topics we are discussing on a mini page...; anyway, I agree it´s very sad if people don´t bother naming their minis or giving a discription underneath, because sometimes I really don´t kow wha it´s supposed to be - I´m only familiar with GW´s publications; perhaps some basic understanding of a figure would make me even recosider my rating (although i usually don´t rate, I only comment)

Wow! There\'s a way to start the day!

Thanks, Finn! Your title really woke me up trying to think of what this subject would be about.

That being said, I make it a practice not to vote on minis that say \"another mini\" or \"Un autre figure\". At first, I didn\'t mind, but then the last couple of weeks I\'ve been trying to vote on at least a few every day if possible. And when I see one like that, I wonder if they even care what vote their mini is going to get when they can\'t even be bothered to title it.

Whew! Thanks for the rant time!lol

And NO MORE TOPIC HEADERS like this! It\'s just not fair!:]

You know, at first glance the title of this thread did grab my attention. But I gotta tell you, the thought of the 2 lesbians I know at work dipped in chocolate is not very pleasant. lol:(

Of course, I am sure they would not care to have me dipped in chocolate either...:p
