But at least there was a description...

What burns my britches is the poorly photographed mini with all the empty space surrounding it. A cropped shot saves download time, and probably would make the mini look better, too.

Hello, good evening and welcome....

Something tells me that \'newbie\' tag is somewhat inappropriate...:D

Nice to see you here Jack:D

The little \"warhammer\" correctiveness comments that people leave, usually with a correspondingly low score.

Such as, \"the Space Marine could never be painted that way, because the codex doesn\'t allow for a power fist blah blah blah\" or some such drivel.

I have seen this quite a few times viewing minis but I do beleave one of the worst was \"I beleave your mini deserves a 7-8 but I dont like Space Wolves so you only get 3\" and sure enough he voted a 3, you cant get much worst then that.

I sometimes wish people would more consistently use the name of the miniature for the title. I enjoy seeing the different interpretations people have of the same mini, and such titles make it easier to browse for that. Although I also enjoy the atmospheric or humourous titles.

I don\'t think I\'ve been around long enough for \'another mini\' to be driving me up a wall yet, though it does seem odd to go to all the bother of taking a photo, preparing it, uploading it, etc, and then not fill in the identifying info correctly.

I only started this thread because I recognised a mini whilst browsing but couldn\'t definitely identify it. Unfortunately, it had just been titled, \"Another Mini\". I then had to spend best part of an hour tracking it down through old catalogues and the wonderful \'Stuff of Legends\' site otherwise I would never have had any sleep. Sad, I know, but you know how things like that can get you...

Other people have reminded me however, that there are much worse crimes committed on this site such as GW \'beardiness\' and people who assert, \"That\'s not how a Goblin/Orc/Alien/Unicorn etc. should look\" as if they somehow know from experience. Grrrr:flame:

Got to go with the general thrust of this thread - \"another mini\" will drive you right round the bend. And I have to admit, I would pay good hard drachma\'s to watch Finn dip himself in chocolate and throw himself to the lesbians - but I want to choose the lesbians.

That is the worst justification for a low vote I\'ve ever seen. you may as well just put \"I voted your mini a 3, just to lower your score. why? \'cuz I\'m a brainless, intolerant, un-imaginative @$$hole.\"

I used to not let comments like that steam me, but since I posted a pic, my opinion changed. That would really piss me off if someone did that to me.

Steelcult~ the \"lipstick lesbians\" you\'re thinking of are an urban myth. they don\'t REALLY exist.:(

Anyway, I\'m going to make a pledge. Every \"another mini\" or \"une autre figurine\" I come across now will get no more than a 6, but WILL get a comment asking for a proper title.
This got me wondering. Does someone with too much free time want to see how the average score of \"another mini\" compares to the overall averages of the site? How about average number of votes?

That reminds me of a story my dad told me once...

My dad in his youth had some rather \"questionable\" friends. Anyway one day he got hauled into the police station and long story short... \"Mophia? The Mob isn\'t real, it\'s just a urban myth.\" lol

I\'d tell you guys a really good story but I want to stay on the forums. If you want PM me and I\'ll tell you one. I\'m sure Chern Ann wouldn\'t object to the questionable subject\'s if you ask for them. Then again I\'m not sure if Chern Ann even moderates PM\'s.

You\'re right. I don\'t know those lesbians. noone said you wanted to through finn to Lipstick Lesbians. You did, however say that you wanted to see those lesbians. have you seen the Kevin Smith movie Chasing Amy? In that movie Jason Lee states that the only kind of lesbians that exist are are the \"scary bulldog lesbians\" (in the conversation illustrated by the intersection joke). That\'s where I was going with that. oh, no, now I\'ve gone and started rambling...

I just searched for \'another mini\' and came up with this on page 1 out of 47. I think you will have to agree it knocks your termi into a cocked hat:D

A cocked hat?

Hell, that knocks the hat over onto it\'s side! That\'s terrible. All that\'s left is for the owner to start a forum thread bitching about how noone\'s seen fit to comment...

The scary thing is...

I wasn\'t looking for anything particularly awful. I searched for, \'another mini\' and that was on page bloody one! (along with a few others). There was another 47 pages of the buggers I could have trawled through...

Possibly as a subject for another thread: What should be the \'exit criteria\' for a posted mini? Do we just keep adding to the collection until the site goes pop?

Personally, I feel that already CMON is fit to burst. I have almost given up voting because it appears to have become a fools errand. I suspect this defeats the primary aim of the site however. Something has to make the task more manageable, but I am sure CA is more than up to the task:D

It does feel a bit saddening that I will probably never see all the wonderful art on this site... I know people will complain about this, but I sometimes feel that someone just needs to go through the pictures and delete anything that\'s of low quality, or horrible picture taking. I know this is kinda unfair, but I\'m sick of being excited to see an OK mini, because 90% of everything is terrible.

How would you set the criteria? On-line score? Judgment of the person doing the deleting? What?

I don\'t know if I\'d like to see everything below a certain score deleted. After all, it\'s kind of comforting to know that the worst mini you ever painted is still ten times better than that crap. Keep the bottom ten at least. :D

What would be your cut-off score? Anything below 5, since that\'s so-called tabletop quality?

How about this - stuff that\'s over six months old, less than a 4 but not in the \"bottom ten\".
