It\'s summer. It\'s 110 outside... your paint dries on your brush before it can reach the mini.. Face it, it\'s hot. That\'s why I (watching Food Network while painting and overcome with madness) have decided to share my drink to cool you down. Here We go:
Take the juice of 6 Key Limes (or 3-4 regular), add 6 teaspoons of sugar, 20 mint leaves, crushed (or three to four drops mint extract) and mix with 8 oz. water.. For you folks over 21, substitute 6 oz white rum and shake, and top off with a bit of Seltzer instead of Water.. Serves 4.. Remember that, or you will be intoxicated quickly.. \"yeh, Dish iz da besht mini I evur painted! >Hic!<\" I Know, I\'m crazy insane. :bouncy:

Chrispy\'s drink

And that children is how you get ulcers............

Chrispy; that\'s a scary drink all that acid & sugar. I can feel my teeth losing all their enamel.

If you want a cooling drink try Iced Orange & Coconut Tea infusion very pleasant and no hangover.

Oh, and have you seen what soda does? And who sez you have to use alchol? Heck, use it as a jello! lol Actually, Key limes are the size of a golf ball, so they have like, ten drop of liquid in them.. I heard somewhere if you roll them first and microwave them, they give up more juice, but I haven\'t tested this yet. Now if they only made flavored paints.... :p

My favorite drink

This drink takes some preparation, but it\'s worth it:

Start out by hiking way up into the hills, like for a few hours.

Make sure you\'re well above the city you\'ve come from.

Find a nice gurgling stream or brook, and make sure there\'re some water-skeeters flitting around in it.

Drop down on all fours and just stick your whole face in there.

(slup slup slup SHLUP!)

Mmmm.... the source of life.

TKP

Warning

Warning Warning Danger Will Robinson!

Just a note of caution from TKPriest\'s note.
Virtually every natural spring in the USA is infected with Giardia Lambdia. Illness from a culture infecting the intestine is called Giardiasis. While most cases of Giardiasis result in mild symptoms (if you consider sudden uncontrollable bowl movements mild) people whose health is otherwise threatened can suffer severe consequences. It is best to run all natural spring water through a sufficient filter before drinking.
If TKP lives in the USA, TKP has probably developed resistant antibodies - like why most people in Central America don\'t often get Amoebic Disintery.
That said, I have to agree. Once hiking in the Rockies, when our water was low and we were tired, friends and I drank fresh water from a spring. It was the best water I have ever had and maybe the best drink. We all felt a little sick a couple days later, but no explosive diarhea so it was worth it.:D

This may sound weird, but cantelope pulp is actually really good... Um.. Let me explain. If you slice up a cantelope (cut it off the rind) and drop it into a blender - turning it into a juicy pulp - its very refreashing. Sounds horrid, I know (I thought so when I first saw it) but its great! YOu don\'t even have to add any sugar. :)

As per Keen Preist\'s comment and following up on Vincegamer\'s I just wanted to say since I\'m in El Paso, which is around the very southern tip of the Rockies (they\'ve very small, for mt\'s that is.. :p ) And it\'s s desert here.. so if you go hiking in the mts. you hafta bring yer own!..... Or drink snake blood, which is all that lives up there.. And one more thing: since i\'m so far south Key Limes are like 25 fo $.99. :D

It\'s an oldie, but a goodie...

Found this thread from a loooong time ago and, since it\'s almost exactly a year later and hotter than heck, I thought I\'d raise it from the dead!

I\'m personally going to give it a try since I have some key lime juice calling my name from the refrigerator. :D

TRY 3 YEARS.

Personally, I like pineapple juice. Or banana smoothies if it is a jogging day.

Yeah. I thought I had heard of that drink before. I didn\'t believe Chrispy thought it up. My father in law has a book of cocktails and that drink is in there. The books about thirty years old now. I don\'t think it was called a Mojito. I can\'t remember the name.
Being a southern boy born and raised I was thinking he was mucking up mint julip.lol

Brushlicker and Freak!
I have a patented Dr Trev drink for you:

Take a pint glass (guiness ones are the best) pour in about 1 inch of vodka (Smirnoff Black label, or Absolute are good), next half fill the glass with K cider (preferably the bottled version, but the can will do at a push). Next carefully pour in half a can of Tennants Special lager (or any other industrial strength lager you can find, as long as its over 8% its good).
Top up with Thunderbird, personally I prefer the blue label, but red is OK as well. For the boys add a slice of lemon, for the girls a strawberry and umbrella.

This drink should be downed in one, anything less is unacceptable. Now sit back and enjoy your handywork.

WARNING: last time I used this, one person fell off their chair (well more like collapsed) another went for a pee, they were later found on the floor halfway up the stairs maintaining they were \"looking for me\" I assured them I was not in the carpet pile, the third person disappeared only resurfacing a few days later, we never found out what happened to them....

Boy that does sound like a mojito. I had one a few weeks ago, boy was it strong. Almost to strong.

Personally I love snakebites on the rocks, fill with equal parts lime juice and yukon jack. It will take the hair off you. :D
