Here\'s something that I\'m very happy with all the way around. It came out exactly how I envisioned it (which is rare). Technically I was very pleased with it, and the emotion is there. The original is 16\"x20\". I\'m offering this to any and all for free. It is on photobucket but photobucket automatically heavily compressed it. I want to be able to pass along the original full size file - 2.93meg\'s. If someone has a way for me to post the file in it\'s full size, let me know. Otherwise, PM me your email address and I\'ll send you the original file. Download it, print it, pass it along.....it\'s yours!!

There is a bit of a back story to it -I\'m 47 now and since I was about 11 have had a severe problem with anxiety/depression. Been a Christian for most of my life and have had to work thru (and still contend at times) being a Christian and having such a difficult problem. I was under the illusion that when accepting Christ, all my problems would vanish - what a shock when they only got worse. Many times in the depths of despair (even a few times when I was in a psych hospital) I have felt God\'s presence, love, peace and reassurance that he IS WITH ME............................His compassion and MERCY and guiding hand. That\'s what this painting is of. My strength wasn\'t enough, His is. I made figure muscular to emphasize that \'strength\' can easily be brought low. Wish I had the smokin\' muscles of the dude I painted, alas...age and Oreo\'s!!

Shawn, thank you. It is lovely and moving.

P.S. If you think that becoming a Christian makes your life easier, pay more attention to Peter as you read the new testiment.

Shawn; I know all too well that combatting Depression never stops.
There is no \"one cure fits all\" magic bullet , we each have to find in ourselves those things which lift us to the peaks and prevent the descent into the troughs.
I found a great relief in hill climbing/fell walking and the sense of \"achievement\" I got in reaching the top of some Cumbrian Fells has been a peak I\'ve used to meditate on when things have been dire for me.
I can\'t say this will work for everyone but going back and recalling events that made me feel good, and trying to get back into that mindset is often a relief for me.

Often I find that a series of small successes is far more effective at holding back the shadow/darkness/oppression that depression is in my mind.

anxiety and depression - feeling you on that one. Painting has helped me a lot.

Lovely painting - I have some friends I might pass this onto.
