No, I chuckled a bit. This was one of the funnier ones, to be sure.
I was referring to the fact that, in comedy, most of what you come up with isn't going to be good. The best standups work for months or years on routines before making them a regular part of the act, and get a lot of feedback from live audiences in the process. SNL, unfortunately, doesn't benefit from this process, so we get to see all of the poo along with the diamonds - every week.
The really annoying part comes when the performers come to think that they're funny all the time and stop trying to do anything better.
