Been listening to Pandora alot this week at work and put in some holiday stations and heard a bluesey song I had never heard before that I really like:

\'Zat you Santa Clause\' by Louis Armstrong (and many others).

Have to love the Pogues, and my personal favorite Carol is Silent Night, some do get on my wick though after a time.

I have a soft spot for Christmas films as well, can\'t recall ever having seen one and not enjoyed it. Must have seen the Snowman a couple of times each and every year, not to mention Home Alone, Die Hard, Miracle on 34th Street, the Muppets Christmas Carol, the Santa Clause... will willingly sit through them all every year. :D

Christmas itself I\'m not too bothered about. Love the time of year and that nice feeling in the air people have, sigh with contentment for a while, but don\'t bother with decorations, giving and recieving gifts or any big celebrations (despite my birthday on the 22nd) few nights craic with old friends and quiet meals with the family does me rightly.

Christmas is always a special time for my family, especially with kids around. We spend a lot of time doing things as a family, cooking, sledding, and just spending time being thankful for all our blessings. We do buy gifts, but the focus isn\'t on money spent or who got what, it\'s on saying, doing, and giving little things that show how much we appreciate each other.

I know this post is going to get a vomiting icon from somebody, but so be it.

As far as the Christmas movies go, I like any of them, as long as they\'re appropriate for our daughter to watch. And Christmas music? I like the traditional stuff, and TSO is wonderful. I detest anything that is done my meowing cats or barking dogs or some other form of animal vocalization. I honestly have to wonder if the sound techs that had to put all that together ever considered suicide. Oh, and Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer is something I could definately live without.

I think Carol of the Bells is my favorite.

Perfectly said Spazzy!

Carol of the Bells is my favorite as well.

The Hallelujah Chorus is fun with a full choir as well.

My wife has teh Nat King Cole Christmas album which is nice to listen to, but not over and over and over... and don\'t even get me started on the Elvis Christmas Album.... lol

Happy Holidays all!!

Cheers,
Grumb

I\'m with you two, Carol of the Bells is ALWAYS the first Christmas song I play! (usually twice) I am particularly fond of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir version.

I also love Christmas, I am amazed at the change in people, I :)|~) made the mistake of telling my 12 year old that I would take her and a friend to the mall last weekend (yes I should be commitedlol) Anyhow when it was time to go it took us close to 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot, now you would think everyone would be :cussing: and :twisted::evil: But... It was amazing, every one was smiling, and polite letting people merge into traffic, no horn blowing! Friendly waves, it was worth every minute it took to get out of the parking lot to see all of the good will. That is what I love about Christmas!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my absolute favorites are

* Baby, it\'s Cold Outside
* Carol of the Bells
* Angel Gabriel
* December Five and Twenty
* The Nutcracker
* Holly and the Ivy

I mostly love them because I get to sing them!

theres a radio station here that plays nothing but Christmas music from thanksgiving to Christmas.

it\'s on all the time here (much to my family\'s chagrin)

listening to it now as a matter of fact.

Steelcult,
My kids love that song, and the video! Matter of fact, I have had to tell my 11 year old daughter that she cannot got to school singing it!
The kicker, my husband works at Hanford. Do a web search for The Hanford Nuclear Reservation... you will get why this is funny! :)
