VGC are direct comparisons for GW\'s Range and are intended for Gaming use hence stronger wearing.
VMC are intended for Modelling for display purposes and are slightly thinner and less hardwearing. (Better range of colours though.)

I have a whole range of paints:

- GW originals (with the white flip top lids) and the original inks
- GW black flip tops
- new GW high coverage paint with white flip top again (but very small pot  ). The flesh tone is awesome for a base flesh colour (add elf flesh and ivory for highlights etc)

-Vallejo Model and game colour (very nice, but agree with comments about the dropper bottles. They are also a bugger if you get air in them, \'cos the paint just bubbles out uncontrollably :( Also, I used to put bits of metal in to help with the shaking process, but I stopped doing that after it ruined several paints because it went rusty and the paint became unuseable.

- Rackham. Hmmm...I won a full set as part of a painting comp so was kinda pleased. BUT...the paint is very grainy, dries unbelieveably quickly on the pallet and model and is super matt. Its such a shame because I have soooo many, but I only use them occasionally for models now, more for terrain :(

- Miniature paints. These come in glass bottles with a nice wide top. I\'ve been buying these since I started painting back in the late 80\'s. I love them too. Great range of colours and you can still buy them quite easily.

- P3. Now these are really nice paints! In fact we are going to get some more as I can only echo other comments about their coverage and ease of use etc due to the high pigment. Some paints can go really grainy when you water them down, but these work really well for blending etc

Quite a list, but I agree that you can never have enough paints to choose from! Hope this helps :D

I had a go at Miniature Paints. Out of the 3 that I bought, only one of them was thick enough to paint with. The other two (whether shaken or left to settle) just wouldn\'t cover.
I was very disappointed.

Vallejo seems close enough to GW but whatever the solution is in the bottle is quite annoying. At first I thought the red was like water but I\'ve taken to storing them upside down.
I like the dropper top. I\'ve spilled GW paints a couple of times and it feels like such a waste.

I bought a handful of the Rackham paints (20 or so), and I have to say I think they are awful. I second Tooshy\'s description. They dry super matte, very grainy, and I can\'t stand them. Not to mention the bottle is a flip-top/eyedropper hybrid (like most craft paints).

So... want to buy mine? I\'ll sell them real cheap! :D :D
