I like them generul, a very nice unit and a background idea very original and realistic of what prolly happened to high elves colors and equipment in the first steps of civil war. Btw sorry for my ignorance but what is an IP issue?

ip is intelectual property.

these weren\'t painted in the typical gw look but with more of a historical feel to fit in with the civil war history in their past.

not good timing realy as gw is building up towards the release of their new high elf stuff.

euro militaire for me next year, that way i can paint what i want without considering current colour schemes etc.

my own fault realy as i don\'t follow the fluff any more.

They are an excellent unit mate.
They just don\'t fit GW\'s ideal.

It was a real pleasure to chat wth you at GD and hope to see you at euro next year.

These were fantastic, had a really good look at them. The metallics are the mutts nutts.

Did they reach final cut? If not then shame on GW!

(Will you post that massive pic up again please?)

Oh now i understand, bah it\'s a non sense :they claim an ip issue on a unit that is inspired by a very precise moment of the high elves background: maybe they think the dark elves the day they revolted against the phoenix king, used the dark elves style armor hidden on the closet for years? bah

can\'t blame gw realy as i know the score and just did something i fancied converting and painting, that doesn\'t realy fit in with what they are looking for.

thanks for the compliments guys :)

pm me your email address matty and i\'ll send you the pics straight from my camera befor being resized, of every angle.

But as I see it, they do fit in to the fluff. As 3671610 said, they represent a part in the High Elves/Dark Elves\' history. It\'s just something they hadn\'t already done designs for, just written about it.

These look fantastic Chris, and regardless of where they placed, a LOT of people were taking photo\'s of them, and thats a very big compliment.

Was very cool to meet you, and chat, cheers for all the tips too!

I\'ve gotta be honest, these weren\'t as good as I thought they would be when I saw them up close at GD. Areas like the skin and the metal seemed to be less worked than they should have been and there just wasn\'t quite enough contrast across the colours of the unit to make it stand out. Perhaps that is down to you taking a \'historical\' approach, but I think whilst there is obvious skill in your painting technique, the combination of your approach, scheme and unit choice means that these guys just seemed to lack any visual pop that raised them into the upper echelon.

They aren\'t a bad effort, and perhaps it is a bit harsh they didn\'t at least make final cut, but I can certainly understand how they could have simply got passed by next to some of the other entries.

Your Space Wolves are superior to these as a complete piece I think.

fully understand what you mean lono, i have a long way to go to catch up with the french and spanish.

man their stuff just gets better and better,

i think it shows with the unit tho that i don\'t enjoy painting gw stuff as much anymore, it should have had more work put into it and that\'s my own fault for not doing just that.

definately a break from gw stuff for me until i get the urge to paint some of their stuff again (probably when that dark elf cold one is released :) )
