clear casting resin

Hello everyone,

For those who have used clear resin for water affects what brand do you prefer? I was using Craftin\' Cast Easy Cast resin but it comes out yellow.

I do have Envirotex Lite High Glass Varnish--is that ok to use?

i use deluxe materials two part solid water and it comes out crystal clear unless you tint it yourself.

I haven´t used it myself, but I have never heard anything bad about Envirotex lite - but I´ve heard a lof ot good things

I have been recommended Envirotex Lite by several people who know what they\'re talking about (hopefully :innocent: ), including Jed of Antenociti\'s Workshop. I haven\'t tried it myself yet, though.

Just to clarify, this is the \"pour-on high gloss finish\" right?

If so, yes, it\'s eminently suitable; lots of hobbyists use it for simulating water. It\'s ideal for flat water effects as it\'s designed to self-level, but if you wait some hours you can create ripples in the surface.

Does this resin mix well with inks/paints?

You can use inks to colour the resin and preserve the transparency. Be careful, though... a very small amount of ink goes a long way.

I\'ll second that, I\'ve also used MIG weathering powders, Tamiya Clear red & W&N ink. This is always with the clearcast EPOXY. NOT the Polypropeline clear cast resin, you need the proper stuff for that.

Andrea, Scenic materials and various other manufacturers do it. I used Gedeo Crystal Resin:
