Close-ups of a dragon

Hi there,
I read a thread in this forum some time ago in which someone wanted to see close-up pics from well-painted minis to see the strokes and learn some technique thereof. I can\'t find the topic any more, that\'s why I start a new thread.
Well, I did my very best to make a close-up of a dragon painted by Matt Engle for me (he\'s a member of CMON as well, perhaps you stumbled over his great dragons). To save bandwidth, I put it as a zoomable Flash-movie on my website. Check it out in the gallery:

I hope you enjoy it.

holy crap

The dragon is very nice. I like it a lot. However, I am most amazed by the site itself and the way you have displayed the dragon.

The zoom is amazing. It kept getting closer. I was disappointed, however, that you did not go one step further and zoom in on a molecular level. That way we could judge the true homogenity of your paint mixtures and the atomic relationship between your whites and grays.

ps. Amazing site. I wish I had half your photo skills.

Very very cool!

I agree wholeheaertedly with Mouse & Barkel.

Nice dragon, but phenomenally cool zoomables. And your site layour and graphics, in general, are very nice. CLean, sharp, usable :D

Up the good work keep.

Hi Ralph,

Beautifull site! I like the dragon gallery and the zoomable feature is fun to use. One small thing however, it would be nice to see a bigger picture of the full thing, rather than just zooming on a particular section.

Once I get a links page I\'ll add your site to mine. Please could you add me to your own links page if you have one? (I\'ve got about 25 dragons so far on my own website, so feel free to have a browse, the link is in my signiature).

Regards

Kat

Thank you very much!

Hi @ll,
thank you very much for this overwhelming feedback. I\'m glad you like my site. In fact, I\'m more than glad since I did it mostly for you (that\'s why the whole site is in English - not my native language as most of you have surely noticed). This community has given me a lot of information and inspiration on minis and painting and so I did want to contribute a bit on my own and the thread in this forum I mentioned before was a hint where to begin.

I just (in these very minutes) came back from holidays - I wanted to finish the site at least to this state before departure and it was one of the very last things I did indeed ;-) - so I had no chance to answer you earlier.

I will work on a real gallery this weekend with more pics of the dragons and minis I own or painted by myself. I will let you know whenever there is more to see.

Thanks again.

@ kittykat: Yes, there will be bigger pics of the complete minis in the finished gallery. I hope to get it online until the middle of next week.
