Hey guys!

recently there has been an active and great debate in swedish media over the subjekt of online hate. It´s becoming a usual phenomenon that people make internet forums, Facebook and Instagram an arena for malcontent, threats and hatred of politicians, public people and peers. Bullying and a general poor discussion climate can be found almost anywhere online.

This is all sad but recently i´ve seen initiatives from companies and others of a new type of "e-love"; positive comments, compliments and such are no longer frowned upon.

I would just like to take a moment to say how great you guys on cmon are! I rarely ever see negative stuff on here, rather the other way around. According to me, this is something of a safe haven of the interwebs. Our common hobby brings us together in the love of minis, and that is frippin awesome!!

Just take a moment, during this valentines day, and think about how awesome of a hobby this is to be in! Not just the activities them selves, but also the great community.

True this is a nice community, we see very little hate around here unless the subject of GW comes up.

Have to agree, from my experience this place is a rare haven of common sense, politeness and support, without being a circle-jerk of pats on the back and hollow praise.

I've commented to my SO a number of times how great it is, and a little surprising, how a forum dedicated to what is superficially a childish pastime is largely populated by mature posters... far more so than many a forum I've seen and participated in that supposedly have all-adult membership! It wasn't always this way but discussions of hot-button topics here seem more likely to stay calm and rational than discussions of un-emotive topics can on some other sites.

So :highfive: to CMON and all who sail in her.

So true. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination initially but I noticed myself a while back that a general lack of basic politeness, but also random rudeness & bitchiness, was increasing online. Even basic manners is the exception rather than the rule, as a lot of people have noted; the number of first-time posters who ask a question, get answers and then can't be bothered to post a single thank-you is staggering.

It's just because the internet is filled with a majority of kids and people with the brains of kids, that were not raised right, where there's no repercussions for their actions they go wild. It's kind of like what you see in those B-rated post-apocalyptic movies.

I think forums/blogs/etc that don't foster a friendlier community have to work much harder to maintain their following. Which seems like a good sign for the human race, ultimately.

This site is awesome in the fact that it showcases some of the most beautiful mini's from painters all around the world. It also encourages and develops people to do and become better too with the forums (tho stay away from the bar, you could run amok in there).
