That\'s a good marketing ploy.

Single run (lower production costs) and cheap US priority shipping ....none cheaper.

Oh, and complementary copies to those involved in this thread...err..project...

I would love to see a new Cmon annual come out and would love to help but sadly I am not an IT wizz.
I do hope that someone could do it though it would be a shame not to see another issue.

You know...

Why not combine two projects? ???

Darkson Designs wanted some input for ideas on their next book, and we need someone to \'do\' a book...

It could be something like -

~~~Darkson Designs Presents~~~
The CMON 2005 Annual
***A year in miniature***
Just add some background on members, some info about the CMON community, and maybe one or two how-to\'s by members. There you go, a miniatures book that is marketable in Games/Hobby stores and will also function as our annual.
OK, who are you and what have you done with Markus.... that was a sane, reasonably well explained an plausible idea.... and there was no vulgarity on sexual innuendo involved.... it can\'t be him...
Oh my, I think the body snatchers have got Markus.....lollollollollollollollol
That was my original idea...
\'s alright...I won\'t fight you for it...:D
Why do it \'out of house\' however...if we can do it \'in house\'...???
Still compiling a list of volunteers however...(Thanks Scot)
I\'m not a computer guy, really
but if you got simple, repetitive stuff, I\'m more than glad to do some grunt work.
I\'m also quite happy to volunteer my time for graphic design and layout of the book. I design books and other print materials for a living and deal with printers, etc...the whole process.
I MIGHT even be able to talk my good friend at the press that my company uses to slip the book under our contract discount rate ;) (no promises there)
I didn\'t buy the book because of the postage, almost doubling the price with the postage is ridiculous...
I think what\'s really needed at the mo...
Is a script jockey....
I am guessing that we need a piece of code that will select the top rated images posted in 2005 and possibly auto email the posters asking them to send in a high res image..... I know squat about these things...is that sort of thing even possible?
I undertand that Chern Ann is simply far too busy to be able to help in this instance.
Doing it manually would be far too big a task to realistically undertake.
Well I don\'t know shit about PHP so can\'t help with that, but if you need some translations, feel free to ask. I\'m done with finals tonight and with my exams in two weeks. After that I got a couple of translations coming up, so maybe I could also ask the authors if they would mind their article beeing in the CMON anual. ( articles coming up are from, yandegio, and cyril for the moment, might add to the list afterwards :p)
having to do that manually would be a large undertaking, and having a coder would be far easier, but do you think it is out of the realm of manual \'do-ablity\'.
How many pictures would the annual consist of?
Writing a php script to do that shouldnt be a problem, it will just take a little time to figure it out.
I have massive amounts of server space to store all the high res images too.
I\'d need some more info, such as the target number of images we are looking for, and the maximum image size etc.
