CMON Swimsuit Calendar Project..

Not to be confused with IPM\'s calendar (or to steal her thundr) I wanted to get some feedback on an idea I had.. For those who don\'t know, Playstation Magazine puts out a \"swimsuit\" edition of their mag with characters from the best selling games in bikinis.. I was thinking of doing the same thing, but with some of the more well known minis/characters from games we all know.
Remember this? this is kinda what I have in mind... But to be fair, I would have to make both male and female calendars and make 24 pictures! (For reference\'s sake, that pic of Jane took me around 4 hours from sketch to completion).. Another little snag is the calender for the ladies.. I don\'t know what you like and I\'m not that good at drawing buff men (yet)...

So, first off is anyone interested?

Next, if you\'re interested, what characters would you like?

And option C, would anyone like to assist me in drawing/ finishing the works?

Here\'s a couple of things I had in mind:

-A vampire on a beach, but at night (Moon Tanning)
-Using a mini\'s same pose to do something else, like playing Volleyball
-Having all the major holidays, moon phases, and maybe even birthdays of CMON Dramatis Personae.
-Characters I\'m thinking about:
GW\'s Epheral Stern (or other Sister of Battle)
Spyglass\' Kage Dar and Shae
Reaper\'s Sophie, Monique de Noir
Freebooter\'s Chaos Sorceress, Chaos Witch
Warmachine\'s Sorscha. Vlad, Nyss Sorceress, Coleman Stryker

That has some possibilities. Are you looking only for mini\'s, or drawings also?

Pictures, pretty much.. I\'m no sculptor but it seems a little hard to use some minis, because basically you\'ll be using the head, and nothing else.. Even though it would be nice to have a mini to sell with the release of theis.. (Steve, I\'m looking in your direction... )

Ummm.. I really don\'t want to say it\'s any particular style, but I like to have a slight ironic or witty edge to my drawings.. the main thing is it\'s basically pin up art, so I don\'t want to have a page full of background and a 2\" veiw of the girl/guy.. Try PMing me instead.. I don\'t think even Chern knows how U2U works..

PM stands for Personal Messages, you can message members by clicking on their name in the browse page and hitting the link that says \"send message to this user\" you can look at your messages by the link right under \"Your Profile\" in the top right hand side.

I can\'t really help you with your idea Chrispy, but I am now hijackign this thread in the name of everyone who has no calendar for 2005 and wonders if IPM will finish it or not.... I want a calendar *sob*

I can draw...

Unfortunately I don\'t have much time to put much of anything together. Between work and husband and baby, I don\'t even have time to set my painting area up so I can get back to painting minis. Maybe next weekend I can get that much done (doubt it).

I love the idea, though.

That exactly what i had in mind, Joshua!! Even though that reminds me a little bit more of nose Art than pinup, that could just be another idea to add..

I think it sounds like a great idea but an awful lot of work. By the way, I\'d say you were using some understatement to say that your drawings have a \"slight ironic or witty edge\"

Well if you need somebody to do November, I could draw a Sister of Battle with a flame thrower and a \"Kiss the cook\" cooking apron . There could be a crazy turky running away in the background with flames on it\'s hind feathers. But I guess that a \"Burn the heretic\" logo could be missinterpretated by some .

no, i discovered a way to decieve people(and myself of course) :
if you just spend enough time you can compensate your lack of talent and thats what im doing
hopefully it\'ll change soon so i dont need to spend 2 weeks for a model that others would paint in two afternoons

Okay, some people still have a little trouble figuring out what style I want this in.. so I found a better kind of example:

Bayushi Kachiko from Legend of the Five Rings is seen as her regular self on the left, and on the right we have her \"swimsuited\" self.. Notcie how the proportions are correct and even if the art on the swimsuit one is not as \"photo-realistic\" as the other, but it still has a semblance of realism and anatomy. Also, the background is a nice touch because it\'s reminescent of Japanese scroll art from the 19th century.

Maybe those of us who can\'t draw could Photoshop a pic of a mini we\'ve painted. I could see that resulting in an excess of those Reaper nymphs, though.

Using that Phil Foglio illo is perfect, Chrispy.

That would be a fun calendar. Why not just do 12 months but have a male and female for each month instead of two separate calendars?
