Will participate based on what mini/minis are selected. When is not so much an issue for me. There is always something going on that threatens to keep me away from my brushes.

Thanks for stepping up and hosting! =)

Well, I\'m in. And it really doesn\'t matter to me when it starts, I\'m always available(sort of lacking in the whole \'life\' department). Hell, and I\'m game on any type of mini, but I agree that orcs and elves have become quite popular. Let\'s see... Something unpopular... From GW anyways... Well, Tomb Kings seem sort of neglected but are mostly just bones leaving little detail for a good competition... Ahh, I\'ve got it! Lizardmen!

Lets see how voting ends on sunday. Today SciFi is a nose ahead of fantasy, gonna be an interesting race until end =)

Well Darkeldar was just a joke, but maybe you guys out there can make them real pretty minis (with a lot of plastic surgery)?
We can choose unpopular GW minis of course I didn\'t want to influence all of you with that joke.
Painting unpopular minis could be very interesting I guess. I would give my best to give you all a great fitting theme!

@undave: Not sure if we end with a mini you can use afterwards. So I guess you have to influence discussion here to choose a mini you need :D

@Yramrag: Great to have you as Judge. I know there\'s a lot to do when you build a house, since a friend of mine also has a full timetable since 4 years. Nice you have time to help me with judging.
So just one more Judge needed, or can also be more (guess up to five judges is okay).

@Roger:
Thx for the dates. I somehow don\'t get it why its not the other way around. I mean SM are fine as they are now I think, perhaps just some rule changes in the book...but nothing big needed.

@arogers907:
So what would be a mini you\'re interesting in joining?

And last question again: Money or Gifts/Goodies as price?

I\'m still up for supporting a smaller company buy using one of their minis in the comp. I know it\'s difficult for some people to get non-GW minis however (no credit card, etc).

Still, I\'d love to see an Avatars of War miniature used, or one of SJBs! The CMoN mini would be good too (isn\'t that what the Visions in Color comp was?).

:drunk:

Does hasslefree count into small companies?
But on the other side it wouldn\'t be good to take now, because then I would want to join and paint one. =)

Iron painter will be finished before the GD, so there will be no problems in joining. Just wonder where to find the dates for \'08 GDs, could only find the dates for the 2007 ones...

I\'m interested, once I\'ve got my Total Testosterone entries out of the way! I voted for scifi or fantasy, but perhaps scifi would be better- I have tonnes of fantasy minis and no scifi ones. This might break me out of my fantasy comfort zone! I have no problems with the mini being from a smaller company than GW, but I can see that it could cause others problems.

Great you join competition Amazon Warrior!

It seems like we\'re going to start the competition in late autumn. Hopefully all of you antending the GDs still have energy to join another competition?
I wish you all calm hands for painting and good luck at the GDs.

Also I can announce that Green Stuff will join us as judge. So now the judges will be Yramrag, Green stuff and myself. Still anyone out there interested in joining us is welcome!

Now midweek situation of poll is: SciFi in lead, most people fine with both categories. Poll wil run until Sunday.

KEEP ON VOTING! :D

I meant manufacturer not group. Choose a manufacturer that isn’t popular or not well known. There is more stuff out there beside GW.

@Ebonbuddha: Sure we can decide on something not popular. If it ends up at SciFi I guess it will be Darkeldar then
lol
But Orcs and Elves? Not popular? Thought they are very popular!?

Okay, so I got that wrong. Lets see how they poll ends and we can choose manufacturer. I\'d also prefer some smaller company.
There would be a lot of time to get that \"exotic\" mini. Since we\'ll not start that soon.

All is up for discussion. This is the most democratic competition you can find out there!

Some of the \"Smaller Painter Friendly\" companies might be more condusive to being approached to enable despatch of minis specifially for the competition.
I\'m thinking Hasslefree/Spyglass/Avatars of war...et al.

Some news on juding team. Finally we\'re four judges. Team consists of: Yramrag, Green Stuff, Dragonsreach and finally me.

24 HOURS LEFT for voting on category!!!

I\'ll close poll tomorrow and then we can start to think about manufactorer!?

Finally we have a result. Don\'t know how to close the poll...Dragonsreach? Can you tell me?

Result ist:

-----Fantasy: 9
-----SCIFI:10
-----Fine with both: 16

So it was a close race until end. And SciFi won just with one vote. Most people will be fine with categories anyway.

So what manufacturers would be nice? Would it be a problem for you to get other minis than GW?
