purple cold ones for the win! I absolutely prefer that colour over the green. Obviously you have to make sure your dark elf colours match with it ok, but generally, purple cold ones are ace. That's the first time I've had a real good look at the cold one mini, actually. Nice model. Does the saddle come attached or separately? I'm considering knocking up a squad of eldar exodites, and the DE cold ones seem the obvious place to start. I'm thinking kinda cowboys (long coats, bandanas) crossed with injuns (tribal markings n bones n stuff) crossed with oliphaunt riders (big ass seat-backs and general wildness) crossed with eldar tech crossed with cold ones. My imagination frequently gets carried away and needs a firm slap and a telling off

The purple is strong, bold and juicy. Was the inspiration from Barney the dinosaur? If not, sorry, I've put that in your head now eh.
By default I tend to do animals with a paler underbelly, and something interesting going on around the hands and feet. That realism is something I can't enough of. Woudl be tricky for purple though, paling it up can go weird, heading into a red-brown would be my first experiment.
Like MIJ, I had that itch to make an exodite after seeing these models. Followed through with it, a little. Ordered all the parts from "bits and kits", an Eldar leg here, a Dark Eldar torso there. Never got around to actually doing the mini though. It's still in the queue though, want to try and pull off a red on it that looks natural before I commit to doing it on the Heresy dragon .

oooooooooh, see me squirm with jealousy. I wish I could justify getting a heresy dragon. A fine, fine mini. Do it justice, I beg of you.
