I got a Dragonblood Luthor Firebrand-Young Mage Mini. Does anyone have any suggestions on colors for him. Tha guy wants him to have a red dragon kinda feel to him.

Um, red?
Seriously, though...limit your colors for the main between browns, reds, and oranges.
With highlight/accent colors in opposing blues and greens.

Without a picture, I can't really do better.
I'll look it up later and see if I need to add more to these suggestions.

post it!!!
that's the only way we can help you...

i had a look in your gallery, like you asked...
everything is from '06, so without seein' where you are today it's hard to give tips...

it's easy enough to fix mistakes, either by painting over parts, or droppin' the mini in some simple green and startin' over...
on my Lava Lizard, for example, there is a completely different paintjob underneath the finished version...
i was goin' in the wrong direction until Eric steered me back on track...
as long as your paint goes on thin enough, you can work over parts a few times without obscuring the detail...

i don't know if you've tried this yet, but if you write the painter who's specific result you like for a certain effect or technique, you can PM them and see if they can share how the did it...
if you ask a basic question like, "how do i paint flames", you will get 5 different answers from 5 different people...
be specific, and patient, and remember, without pics it didn't happen:)...

cheers
jah

Yeah dude post it. Better yet do WIP shots and ask for feedback. It is REALLY hard to give good advice on a figure without knowing what you are actually doing.
