I\'m having trouble finding a good recipe for parchment, scrolls, etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have a tube of artist paint called parchment. It\'s basically a cream - vanilla shade of white. You could try to mix white, just a touch of yellow and brown and mabey just a touch of black.

Hi...

...Welcome to the forums! :D I use GW colours for parchment, bestial brown (regular brown,mid-shade) with white added for the highlights,or snakebite leather (tan) with white added. The bestial brown will give a more aged parchment look whilst the snakebite leather, depending on how light you mix it can give a much cleaner look.Hope that helps fella... ;)

Thanks very much. I will see what I can come up with. And thanks for the welcome.

BTW there really should be an article with colour recipes so if anyone has the time...

It depends on the feeling you want to give the painting.

(All Paints GW)
Darker, more brooding and muted: Graveyard Earth blended up into bleached bone. Then highlight with 50/50 BB and Skull White Mix.

Brighter, cartoonish and vibrant: Snakebite Leather to BB. 50/50 mix of BB and SW highlight.

You can fiddle around with other borns but genreally the rule of thumb is brown blended up to BB, then a 50/50 BB, SW highlight in my books.
