Following on from Meg\'s thread which veered on to comedies... (amongst other things)
What are your top comedy programs? The type you could watch again and again.

Royle Family - A perfect slice of working class british life. Amazingly funny, simply because it doesn\'t try to be.

Fast Show - A little more mature than Harry Enfield\'s stuff, and some really great running sketchs. Ralf and Ted are classic...

Red Dwarf - Need I say more.

Young Ones - I\'m a little to young to \'get\' everything, especially a lot of the political stuff brought up. But this is fantastic, Alexi Sayle at his most imaginative. The atom bome episode is amazing.

Father Ted - Graham Linehans best. \"These are small, those are faaaar away\"

Blackadder - I\'m sure most of you will have this in a top selection.

And many many more....

Black Adder is brilliant.

The Office has its moments, but I mainly enjoy the quirky characters.

Seinfeld definitely had some gems.

The Simpsons, especially when they push the envelope of propriety.

South Park, because they always push the envelope of propriety, and will ridicule everyone.

The Simpsons - The best animation comedy by far, nobody else has been as funny for as long.

The fasy show - The best comedy sketch show of all time for me.

Family guy - Brian is my favorite

South Park - For when i\'m feeling coarse

My name is Earl - Damn I love that series.

Coupling - Much amusement in a bar

Teachers - Much amusement in a school

Red Green, well the first couple of seasons. Haven\'t seen it in a dogs age, so I\'m not sure if it is still going strong.

Black Adder, Father Ted and Red Dwarf are in there certainly. I\'ll add:

Black Books: Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran, a perfect pair.

Coupling: IMO a better version of Friends

Two and a half men: Charlie Sheen quite likely just being himself

Not the Nine O\'clock News: A propper classic

The Kenney Everett Show: It\'s awful but it cracks me up every time

and even though they aren\'t strictly speaking comedies I\'ll add these two because they have some absolutely hilarious bits:

Life on Mars / Ashes to ashes: I got told off for laughing uproariously at the Camberwick Green part lol

I totally forgot about them two. Life on mars was way better imo, but ashes to ashes I could relate to a lot more.

We rented a Jeeves & Wooster DVD recently, and I thought it was great!

It is a trip seeing Hugh Laurie act so silly in his older stuff and then be such a nasty curmudgeon on House.

Why Hugh Laurie tries to put on an American accent in his recent stuff completely mystifies me. It sounds so incredibly fake and I\'m British. I dread to think what it sounds like to real Americans.

His comedy series with Stephen Fry got a bit hit and miss towards the end but I distinctly remember almost pissing myself laughing when they did this
