I bought some Predator comics on ebay because of this thread lol Old ones from when I was younger that have long disappeared due to child carelessness.

On the topic of movies I just saw a trailer for the new transformers movie. I hate micheal bay but this movie might be good. Hopefully better than the first. I know that these movies were intended for CGI to show off how cool it looks to see a truck turn into a humanoid machine but I need some pleasent dialogue too. Now that I think about it I do not think it is worth paying $10 to see a movie with a bunch of screaming babies and everyone else talking on their cell phones and texting during the movie. I will wait for the DVD. Either that or I will buy a cell phone jammer.

i know you´re not kidding , cause i know how much this old stuff is worth . I remember, a few years ago i read this Star trek collector´s guide and one of the listed items was a mini tricorder for kids from Burger King. It was just a stupid plastic toy, but the list price was around 800 $ at that time

Uber, i just have to ask : what did you say to your mom? Or should i say : Did you ever talk to her again?

i gasped and fell down onto the chair in my apt. it was then that i cursed a bit and told her that they were worth a ton.

you see my grandmother had burned all of my uncles ballcards from the 40\'s and 50\'s in the 70\'s after he moved out. including three copeis of the mickey mantle rookie card from topps. i think they are 50,000 bucks now each.

so my mom knew not to torch my ball cards (which by the way are worthless now) but not about the star wars....not to mention a sealed castle grayskull, he-man, skeletor, orko.....

ummm lets see she also sold the transformers collection..... all G1\'s sealed in boxes....

GI joe....

pretty much my entire collection of 80\'s toys. it took me 6 years to collect all of that stuff and now some lady who acted all weird when buying them is probably drinkiing chamblais with her homies.

grrrrr......

I apologize for the double post, I did not see this. Dude that is F\'d up. I do not know what else to say. Damn...

My wife bought me a copy of the Gunslinger Born for Christmas. It is a hardcover and very nice at that. I mean seriously nice. I dared not ask how much she paid for it.

look on the bright side: if less people are buying them and more are being pulped, the ones that you buy will be more collectable and thus have a higher resale value ;)

I do agree with you though, especially on the issue with graphic novel prices, double-especially on hard back graphic novels (never seen the point of those ???)

Darthfoley- I picked up the Green Lantern book by Geoff Johns. I thought it was OK, not overwhelmed mostly as I don\'t give a flying about GL but the writing was solid for such a weak character (my opinion). So all in all a good recce. Got any others I should look into?

I also think videogames are way too much money.
Agreed! What galls me sometimes is how on multi-platform games the console version, which tend to not be as complete or full-featured as the PC version, cost more.
thats why i have a pc, every game goes on it eventually, usually better, often cheaper and i can\'t work analogue sticks (i\'m a mouse and keyboard guy!)

Best stuff I\'m reading atm, outside of GL ;)

Lone Ranger (ongoing)
Conan the Cimmerian (ongoing)
Kick-Ass (ongoing)
Batman: Cacophany (3 issue mini, on issue 2 atm...written by Kevin Smith)
Sgt Rock: Lost Battalion (6 issue mini, on issue 4 atm)
Echo (ongoing)

I gave up Runaways when Joss Whedon stopped writing it, but from what I hear Terry Moore is doing a great job on it (he also writes Echo, which is outstanding).

If you\'re looking for TPB\'s...Hedge Knight, Jonah Hex, Y: The Last Man, Booster Gold: 52 Pickup and Blue and Gold, older Runaways stuff, Locke and Key...
