This is intense. I need to go fetch my sunglasses :glasses-cool:
Every time I think your colors have reached full vibrancy, you come alone and up them some more. It looks amazing.
Unfortunately for the Necron, i didn't had much time the past week to continue on him, i was very busy cooking and canning food with my pressure canner/cooker.
In these pictures we have a chicken and vegies soup and some colored carrots. I don't have pictures of the other stuff i made, beets, vegetable soup, and another batch of chicken soup. All fresh vegetable from the market!
Thanks guys for your nice words! The canning is almost done so it is a good news but on the other hand i completely lost interest in my necron, i have absolutely no will to continue, i tried today and it is just not happening.. I could not reproduce the idea i had in mind and the lighting on the base is off for the guy and it will just not make any sense for the viewers. I went also too far with the glow on the necron and unfortunatly i can't go back. I promise myself that i will not work on projects that i don't have fun on it anymore and i have no more fun anymore. I don't mind hard work and tiny freehand but i need the positive energy of been exited in a project to be able to do it.
I don't know exactly what i will do next but it will probably be a female bust.
See you soon guys!
I would have to put him like this so it makes sense, that means redoing the base completely. I have a cabinet full of unpainted female busts waiting and i more in the mood to spend my time on, i rather cooking than dismantled fail project, i will keep him in case i feel making necron a diorama until then bye bye. I don't know WTF i was thinking!
It's sad, but I can totally relate to the feeling.
Just put it away for now and start a new project, maybe, at some point, you will find a purpose to it or some new inspiration.
You can always, if needed, scrap the paint out and start anew.
IDK I thought this was awesome. You know at times there are projects that just don’t have to adhere to perfect light placemat and all that. I mean this is an incredible piece. Every time I look there’s some new detail I missed!!!
If you don’t feel it, it’s no fun to continue the project. I know. You can it, put it in the cupboard, and if you ever feel like working on it again, boom, you’ve got yourself a cracker of a start. Meantime, find something you’re motivated about, whatever the hell that is, and do your best work. You’re all good.
I really liked that green necron, but understand losing interest in a piece. Coming up with a backdrop sounds like a good idea to possibly get your motivation back for the piece.
My $0.02 would be the same as everyone else: put him on the back of the shelf for now, pick up a fresh project, and keep going!
I think what keeps me engaged is having at least 3 projects going at any one time. The advantage is there is always something to be excited about, and I only work on something when I am having a good time with it.
The disadvantage is that projects take longer, because I spread them out. But this is a hobby for me, so I can afford it.
For the necron, I think the base still works. Possibly if integrated in some kind of platform/substrate he is standing on, as opposed to being the entire base itself.
It might provide the counterpoint of color too, maybe if it has the same hue as the glowing jewels (I am sure he will have when you finish with him)
