Well 78 views an no comments on this thread, guess people are too scared to say anything.
So I'm not intending to be hurtful only honest here.
To me the grey robes don't work they detract from otherwise good and neat painting by draining the effects of the colour and leaving everything "drab".
Perhaps a simple bit of Freehand lining could break the drab ness, perhaps yellow to echo the gold wraithbone.
Everything else looks OK, gems are fine, can't really tell on the helmets as I have problems focusing on blue with my astigmatism.(Joys of old age).

Nice and neat but agree that the robes could do with something to make them pop a little more. I would have thought that they would help the blue seem brighter but for some reason they don't quite work for me

Not trying to play devil's advocate here, but I actually quite like the grey robes. I think they suffer from the blue/white combo being so contrasty it makes them look a bit monotone. I guess you could counter that by pushing the contrast on the robes much more (darker shadows and lighter lights) or, as has been suggested, by adding a spot detail in a bright colour. Still, I like em :)

They look great. nice smooth and neat painting style and bright colours.

They could be improved significantly with a different photographing technique. I recommend you try using natural daylight, or invest in an artists lamp from the daylight company.

Next you'll need to get your hands on photoshop somehow and start playing with the 'levels' function and contrast to get a nice effect.

Lastly you could take the highlights further to increase the contrast on the original models.

Overall good job.

Cheers guys! :) The colour choice was the client's decision, the rest of his army is blue, grey and white. I see what you mean about pushing the contrast on the robes, but as these were only tabletop standard I think they'll do :)

Excellent tabletop painting, but the customers colour choice is shocking, the grey and blue simply don't work very well together.
