After quite some tim I finally finished varnishing the last Space Hulk minis today!

Lovely painting... excellent contrast on the marines. For me the genestealers heads and hands/claws are a little light but that, in no way, takes away from the great painting.

I bought Space Hulk the day it was re-released.

I've painted one marine so far.

These are incredibly well done.

Thanks everybody. :) (@supervike: I envy you. Should have bought that thing as well back then.)

Here's how I (kinda) did the red: Basecoat of Blood Red, notice that that's WAY too light, give it three very heavy washes of black/purple/dark red, start layering, layer, glaze, layer, glaze, layer, glaze, layer, layer, layer, glaze, glaze, layer, glaze, all that while keeping in mind where the red reflects more light and all that. Start highlighting edges where appropriate. :) That's it really. This paintjob really was much work and little brains. I'm sure I could have achieved similar results and saved much time by having tackled this in a cleverer fashion. But anyway, glad you like 'em. :)

Thanks for sharing Sigur.

Hopefully the purple will help me get there. So far I'm finding it to be a similar process with mucho glazes and layers. A good way to get through the media library!

Makes sense to add the purple in there! I will give it a try since my marines just are just basecoated atm :>
