[Commission] Space Wolves army

Pictures are showing up OK now, but don't worry, I'll google up more 'bukkit' jokes from the moment your pics disappear again. ^^
I have no idea how expensive the pro photobucket is but I'm guessing you might be better off renting some server space and hosting your pics on there. I pay around 40euro per year for my 4GB space at Hetzner.de, unlimited traffic...

Oh, indeed, some smoke soot will go a long way! :D

I'm using one.com, I pay roughly €15 a year for unlimited traffic and 3GB space. :)

What can I say that hasn't been said before? Great color scheme, outstanding free hand, love the power weapons....nice! Looking forward to your step by step guide :)

@Meph: It's good to know that I can rely in you once I run out of bandwidth again. :D And thanks for the suggestion. I got the photobucket "pro" thing for a month now and plan to just juggle between my two accounts in the future so I won't run out of bandwidth again.

@Chrome: Now that's rather cheap. I think I should look into that.

@SpeakerDad: Thanks. :)

Alright, I hope all of you had a nice start on 2011. Here's this year's first update!

My second Step-by-Step painting guide just went online. My first one a few months ago was a load of work but this one goes way beyond what I did in the first one.

It's an in-depth description on how I painted the latest incarnation of Ultramarines Captain Sicarius and the word file is close to 50 pages including pictures. Here is the finished piece:

Sadly, I can only show you with the infantry all embarked because they all left for the client's place two months ago.

Individual picture of the finished stuff are to follow later!

Just came across your thread today Sigur and I have to say it's amazing! Fantastic work which you rarely see applied to a whole army. I'm sure your client will love the army.

That's a very nice bunch indeed. I bet your client will be gibbering and clapping his hands like a little girl when he opens that box... :D

@Eggroll: The expressed his contentment with this army, yes. ;)

@Meph: Cheers. I hope he does. I recently had one of those moments recently by the way. A bunch of awesome early 2nd edition Imperial Guard (main army since 2nd edition, absolutely love the early 90s from a GW perspective) came into my possession for very cheap. I did actually giggle and cackle like a maniac while unpacking everything, checking boxes and such. :)

So here's the finishing individual shots. You've seen some of those already but these are bigger pictures with last minute changes, finished basing and such stuff.

As said before, vèry impressive work. My new favourite is the streaks on the Land Speeders, they really add to the model. Out of curiostity, in roughly how many layers did you build those up?

That is SOME project! So many tanks... I can't even imagine how much of your life went into this lol! Cracking job to the spec standard though, hats off to you man!

@Meph: Really hard to tell but I think it wasn't all that many. Maybe four for bigger streaks?

@mattsterbenz: Many thanks. :)

@empchild: I'm a student, working on my master's degree at the moment but these days I have to admit that I'm pretty much doing the painting thing almost full time because my studies allow for very much flexibility. (for better or worse)

@Torn Blue Sky: Thanks for your uplifting reply. :D

Ola Sigur! Those are some very impressive miniatures. I had a question though. In one of your first posts, you posted a large base which was a 60mm base and mostly rocks with a bit of snow. I had a question about the materials you've used... what are they that you could create such rocks?:O Very nice.

Hi A Luna, thanks for the reply. The Rock was made of cork, albeit a pretty fine-grain kind of cork. Don't really remember where I got it but it's working pretty well for rocks. Lateron, I had to shave off most of the rocks because my client didn't want the base to be that high. Hope that helps.
