commission WIP: Mutated slaanesh Dreadnought

Here is a model I\'m adding detail to, the \"base\" model being a chaos dread and a sentinel, built by the guy I got the order from. The description being to give it a few organic parts and a face/head, so here is the beginning of it, a partially modeled \"skull\" I will use as a base for the head, neck and tail. But I cannot decide what kind of skull this resembles the most, it was going to be a wolf\'s head from the beginning but I think one of those happy little accidents(R.I.P Bob Ross) made a visit and i ended up with some sort of hybrid, but what?
The reason I\'m wondering is so i can get a good skin or fur or whatever that doesn\'t look completely off on the finished model.
If I remember it correctly this guy is supposed to be Chaos Undivided, so, no Tzeench\'y feathers atleast. lol

Transformers indeed. I got a serious Grymloq vibe when I saw the pics. Are you thinking of leaving the body all mechanic or are you putting some musculature over the top in spots?

It will have patches of skin in select places, the head and tail will be completely (or mainly... lol) musculature and then some sort of spine and parts of a ribcage coming visible connecting the two ends.

when i saw i thought giant rat.... seriously this is a brillient twist on the Space Wolf variation that i keep seeing... personally if you did wanna go with a rat or creature like dread feet i would personally say try to get some of the forgeworld three \"toe\" feet and maybe add claws but so far this looks amazing keep up the good work so that we might look on this topic in awe (aswell as envy and jealousy lmao) lol

I really like the model, the top of the skull looks more like a snake to me, due to the broadness and flatness of the head, and the two fangs on the top jaw.

It still looks awesome though!

Thought I\'d referrence what I was on about :) I didn\'t realise the wolfs skull was similar shape, perhaps a bit narrower. If you\'re going for a wolf look, then I\'d add some extra teeth to the top jaw, like the pic

Well, since I haven\'t shown almost any GS work of mine I have decided to revive this wip.
Still a commission, still loads of fun!
A few changes have been made since the beginning, the tail has become a scorpions tail and the wolf part is almost totally gone, replaced by more lizard-like influences. The theme of this model is Slaanesh and nothing else.

That T-rex pic looks damn cool and it will definitely get some representation on the model.
Well, enough chatter, here is the current state of the model:

This thing looks absolutely awesome! I\'d vote for some saliva dribbling out of its screaming mouth, just like on that Komodo dragon. :)

Damn, this thread makes me want to start collect a Chaos army just becuase I could try cool stuff like that then! ;)

What do you people think of making the teeth look something like this instead of the \"normal\" set of teeth you always see on dragon like creatures?

I already have a go but I want to hear your opinions.
And has anyone seen it done before? If so I\'d love a link to get a modeling reference.

how did you recreate the scale pattern on the head what tools etc. teeth are designed for certain purposes it depends on what you want to achieve i.e. some teeth slice some pierce some crush. the big sharks have two types needles on the bottom jaw to grab and hold the top set are the arrow headed slicers that lacerate. t rex was designed to pierce with tons of force and rip huge gobbets of flesh n bone whats the dready designed to go up against? armoured vehicles? then piercing\'s the way to go for me. crocs n gators have piercing teeth and again they grab a hold and death roll to rip chunks off. there was a study into bite force done using robots have a nosey on youtube see if you can come up with some thing there i recal the t rex robot was fierce, mining machinery rippers and the like have nasty looking teeth good luck oh and excellent build so far dude.:D

The first image remind me of Liger Zero. The new version reminds me less of a dragon, and more of a snake. Maybe it is just the angle of the fangs, or the dark background. Either way it is more reptilian now.

Also is it going to be a dread or defilier when done?

im planning to do this on a carnosaurus for my lizardmen army

I love Dino Crisis 3. This mini would look great with some muscle textures.
