With only one real update today I almost feel ashamed.
But, the steps I am working on at this moment are time consuming. And I must confess that I did get a bit caught up in my tank.
Here\'s what I\'ve got today:

And here we have the other side. Now when the green stuff cures I will try to make it look like the taint started from within the sarcophagus itself, any ideas on how?

Only one, that may or may not work.

Take the original sarcophagus and look good at it. Pick some parts that stick out and have them on the neck of the beast both top and bottom.

Not sure which lid is for who with chaos dreads. If this is the one with three circles forming a triangle with arrows coming out of them, then maybe have one of the circles and arrows on the top of the neck, the other two maybe the same distance from the hull with their arrows on the bottom/underside of the neck.

So the lid is still there, but is now semi-organo-demonic.

Unless this may make the slaanesh icon appear to be a brand on the demon itself, but then that could be a part of the entry and what binds the demon to this plane and controls it....?

But I am thinking the sides are the icon, so you don\'t need another one. If that is the case, and since all marines either loyal or chaos are fused into the dreads to run it, maybe you could have the marine being the possessed thing, and have some body parts that would have remained in the process of being converted into a dreadnought still in the demonic possession. The corny way would be maybe have the unhelmeted marine head stick out of the back of the demons neck.

Depends really on the fluff and how close to it you want to follow for slaanesh and the way possessions of vehicles occur.

You could go simple and at the base of the neck have a sarcophagus just stuck so the demon came forth so fast it tore right through and pushed it out of the way like a lid or door for its entry into the dread.

Note: These ideas are all before 1st cup of coffee, so take that into consideration.

Its looking better as you go.

you might try making the plates of the dread look like they have burst or splintered from the inside and do some green stuff sculpting of innards or barely formed muscles n tendons like on the t rex suggesting the beast bursting from its confines also i think you may have to do some more sculpting for the feet raptor claws again with chunks of the previous hand sticking out

wow, that looks amazing. a tut on the scales would be invaluable, id put it in the article section. as for making the taint look as if its emerging, the ledgend of Medusa strikes me as quite slaanesh. so you could cut a raged hole in the sarcophogus where the neck jions it and fill it the the necks and haeds of small writhing snakes around the neck. i know that\'s probably far too fidlly, but i reckon you could do it. as for orns, amybe have too long, slender ones curving down the back of the head, almost like hair

coming on nicely there chrome, you need to make up your mind re the bottom jaw, open or closed personally i like the open option keep up the good work:D

Yeah, I like the open one better as well. It will stay that way now. I\'ve gotten the weapons loadout from the customer now and that has given me quite a few new ideas.

Some Threadomancy around midnight sounds like a good way to end the evening.
Sorry for neglecting this thread for so long but now I believe I am done with the model. Here's the final result:

WTF!

I wish I could do only one tenth of your work in sculpting... This work is amazing...

Wow Chrome, really creative job on sculpting. My personal favorite is probably head and part around his "neck spine". I know you said it's finished, but for me the tail looks a bit to much smooth in contrast with rest of your sculpting. I don't know, maybe your planning it this way to have it "skinny" clean or something .... so just in case your in mood for some more toying with that :) Anyway, really lovely work mate :good:

Hmm, I guess I could add some sinews and such between the joints of the tail to make it less smooth. That could perhaps make it slightly more consistent as well.

Heh, my apologize mate for spoiling your work. It's on you, it will probably looks even more consistent if you do that - for sure. But you know, so far as I have experience, there is always lots of "things to be done yet" on my minis, and it's just a question when you claim it DONE :) So ... do not take considerations on me - if you feel it's done - it's done. :) And it looks amazing as I said before.

The tongue, it does nothing!

Sorry...but that one boggled me. Looks utterly 'off' to me. Just to me, but there it is. Looks more like a pitchfork than a lizard-type tongue.

Fantastic conversion work! The organ pipes look rather plain for the moment, I assume the paint job will make them more interesting.

@Hasd: I hope it will, that part is out of my hands though since the client wanted to paint it himself.

@Danny: Hmm, yeah. You're right. it actually looks like the old pitchfork from the GW plastic zombies box! :)
