Commissioned Commissar Tank

Another piece for a client\'s armoured company. This is his conversion and I think that it really came together. The whole thing really strikes me as just the right tank for a Commissar.

This one was painted to the Tier 1 standard -- but with all of the detail on the model I think that it really pops even at that level. Just a superb model.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated -- especially as I have several other models to finish before I ship any back. Lots of time to make corrections to anything we missed.

When you say \"Tier 1 Standard\" ar you trying to tell us that this is basic? :eek:

I\'m not generally a WH40K kind of guy, and certainly not normally into the tanks etc but this looks great. The Commissar, sansbags, lens thing etc... I\'d love to know what you\'d add for a higher level paintjob.

Great work - I predict another (very) satisfied customer.

Heh, yeah, this is my \"gaming standard\" model. I stopped using \"gaming\" and \"tabletop\" because it means different things to different people -- I\'m chaning my commission site to read \"Tier 1\" and \"Tier 2\" because it\'s just as much nonsense but (hopefully) not as confusing.

Because it\'s Tier 1 you\'ll note that everything is simply drybrushed. All of the highlighting on the body is drybrushed, the sandbags, the guns... everything. Even the Commissar for the most part.

The gold got one coat of Shining Gold and a brown ink wash. The weathering was one layer of drybrush and some flicks with a toothbrush.

For Tier 2 I would have done actual highlighting, done multiple layers and colours in the spotlight, layered the gold, etc.

Tier 2 gold, for instance, is typically 4-5 layers a wash. Tier 1 gold is 1 layer and a wash.

I appreciate the feedback -- the customer is happy and it\'s always nice to have someone say, \"this is basic?\"

Very nice stuff for just gaming standard. Definately a happy customer!

PS- I see a mold line on the commissar\'s left arm.

I think it looks pretty cool, dry brushing vehicles isn\'t a crime, after all this is for the games table I wouldn\'t want a tank to be of such good quality that I dare not use it.
This model is good for the table but also would not look bad in the display cabinet either.
