Commissioned Inquisitor & Vindicare (FINAL 2/5)

The first of four hours (that\'s one hour of four) scheduled for this piece. There is, of course, quite a bit of cleanup to be done at this stage -- and three more hours that will go in to finishing it. I plan to do a touch of freehand on the cloak. Client chose the book for the off hand. I plan on doing the armor in the dusty black I used for the Russ.

Would love some feedback of course -- bearing in mind that it\'s going to be a four hour mini.

the reds and flesh look great, as does the inside of the cape. But the back of the cape really looks rough atm, and could do with tidying up. Its such a large area it sticks out.

I just sent this image to the client for a final round of feedback -- and so I know whether the base rim should be black or white.

The model came in at almost exactly four hours and I\'m pleased enough with the results. In this case the client wanted something between my gaming and tabletop standards -- and I think that this manages that.

Another commissioned model for the same client -- also at a level between gaming and tabletop.

Unfortunately my lighting doesn\'t capture the multiple layers of blue that make up the armor highlights -- and by the time I get around to (FINALLY!) updating my lighting this model will have long since mailed back.

Overall I\'m happy with the results. It came in at roughly 3.5 hours and included all of the clean up and basing time. Not a very exciting model to paint though and I\'m glad that there are other assassin models on the way.

Still to come are the 3 classic retinue models that come together in a blister. I\'ve started in on those and hope to have them finished this week -- all at gaming standard which won\'t be very exciting but should work well with the Inquisitor.

I\'m just waiting on the final \"okay\" from the client -- otherwise these folks are ready to go. This is the first time I\'ve painted a group of minis with a mix of painting levels -- the Inquisitor was done to \"Tabletop\" standard but the retinue only to \"Gaming\" standard. I still think that they managed to all come together and look like a cohesive unit.

I really like those bases!! Can you tell me how they were done or where they came from?

I agree with Aidan K what did you use for the bases, are they real or painted if painted could you share your skills with us...

Actually, I can\'t take credit for the bases -- the client shipped them to me with the models. As for the technique it\'s really simple: laminate.

Check out your local hardware store; they should have laminate samples on hand, usually in the kitchen remodel section. It is used primarily as a counter top surface.

I actually have a small bag full of various colours and textures -- and pretty much any wood, metal or stone design can be found.
