Common Problems with Newbies

I think everybody knows that posting a fuzzy 150x150 image of the back of a mini isn\'t going to get him that many points at all...

Another one (I\'m guilty of this way back... but I\'ve destroyed all evidence. :D ) is using Photoshop as your personal art tool.. You know what I mean, putting in a big background of some fantasy art, using lens flares for swords, making outlines, blood dripping, etc.. People are here to see the mini! Don\'t clutter it up with stuff that isn\'t even going to be there!

Oh man, I HATE that stuff. The background thing isnt that bad, but oh man, those lens flares piss me off a mighty bit. I\'ve never seen anyone add dripping blood, i hope I never do...

there are serious newbies, you know...

I\'m reading articles and looking for figs here for several months and I promess I will post nothing before I can make good (seeable at least, don\'t worry for me that means a 6,5-7) figs and good picts of these.
I just can\'t think people want to see figs that should finish (and finish in fact :)) into dissolvant.
(They are so beautiful without any paint, don\'t want to spoil them)

Thanks for Chrispy overall for his art articles, they help a lot.

The Gimp

Excuse me, I forgot to say that the Gimp has at least the same quality as Photoshop (I\'ve work with both), and that it\'s a free software. You can use it if you\'re under Unix of course but there are versions for Mac OS and Windows.
If you don\'t know it, just have a try, you may love it!
(Must I say I didn\'t want to hear about anything else from Photoshop ? )
