ok so my missus split up with me yesterday. dont give me commiserations because, if she hadn\'t, i would have ended things and we have stayed friends. aaaaaaaanyway, i move into my new house on friday so all of a sudden, i have a load of time on my hands. as i don\'t only want to be painting and sculpting, i\'d like to buy a couple of computer games, so suggestions please!

games i like are usually fps type things, like (i have these)
all half life and spin offs,
dark messiah of might and magic (am keen to explore more fantasy style rpg stuff)
fallout3
call of duty waw (haven\'t tried any of the others)

Been playing Battlefield 2142 for over 3 years now. 1st person shooter online. Got hooked on Fallout 3 for about 2 month. Now I want to play it again as a total Bad *ss. The first time I played I played the character as a goody goody, helped people while on your quests. There is also 3 add-ons to the game also.

Only FPS I can recommend is Call of Duty Modern Warfare, World at War from what I heard was not all that good since they didn\'t introduce many new features or anything of the sort.

If you want something you can really get into find yourself a decent MMO (those can also be hard to come by now a days though), and one that appeals to you.

Having said that there are a few good RTS games out there that I have devoted way more time to than I should. Empire Total War is one I am currently still trying to get over. Overall the base version of the game isn\'t that great but with the right mods it is amazing. Also a few more classic ones that I have also put in a lot of play time into, 1701 A.D, Children of the Nile, Hearts of Iron 2 Dommsday.

FREE online play!! All the BF series is good. I have been playing the BF2 series for a while and really liking it. There\'s some goofy free download called Battlefield Heroes where you can make silly cartoon avatars and such.

BF3 Looks to be very cool..............once it gets released.

Shawn RL and I disagree on many things, but \"Battlefield Heroes\" is not one of them. Frankly, I haven\'t actually played it yet, but it looks super kewl.

For RTS try stronghold 2 deluxe or a newer version that is your medieval times sorted mass armies, you have to collect supplies , grow food and crops ect. For world war 2 try company of heroes, not so mass troops but more tactical lots of cover and line of sights and range issues.

Well... TF2 looks mighty fun (I\'m trying to get it cheap atm). Bioshock looks very interesting, but the DRM on that one put me off buying.

Generally, I\'m not that much of a FPS person (Crysis and Portal exempted), so for killing time, my drugs of choice are round based strategy (Medieval 2: Total War and Civ IV own my soul), or the occasional hour of WoW.

The orange box (team fotress2, all halflife + portal) is great for killing time, portal is an awesome game a tf2 is my fav online fps

day of defeat source and counter strike source are two v.gd online fps and yo can get them in a pack for around £15

Day of Defeat remains one of my favorite computer games. The Call of Duty ones are just great as well.

For some reason BF1942 never appealed to me the same way, and I don\'t feel like trying 1943. Battlefield 2 wasn\'t bad... but I\'m never too big on current/futuristic FPS games for some reason. Definitely prefer the WW2 stuff.

Day of defeat source, Team Fortress 2, Counter strike source, Left 4 Dead. Those are the ones i return too mostly anyways... And yes, buy them off of steam

i have all the appropriate orange box goodness

forgot to mention left for dead and bioshock. also good

staying well clear of wow - i have time to kill, not my whole life!
