Concept art contest - Sculpture of the winner's concept!!

So you think you can draw, and you'd like to see one of your character sculpted in 3D? This contest was made for you! One single, and very simple rule: send us a full length concept drawing, whether it is a monster, and angel, a woman, or anything you can think of!

The winner will get his concept sculpted by one of our talented sculptors. He will have the opportunity to follow and validate the different steps of the sculpting process. But there's more! He will also receive 10 resin-cast miniatures of his sculpted character (to give away to friends!) and, better yet, a painted version of the miniature by one of our best artists!

Send us your drawings at maow-miniatures@orange.fr before May 15th.

The jury, composed of several designers and sculptors, will deliberate on the following week to choose the best concept.

Ooh I actually might participate in this. Being more of a 2d artist dabbling in miniatures. And I know you've got some good sculptors there at MAOW miniatures, I'd love to give them an interesting challenge to get their sculpt on.

The difficult question here though is, as is always a bit iffy with contests like these and often glossed over. How are you going to deal with the rights issue? Copyright ownership and such, will the winning miniature become part of your line up under full ownership, or will (at the very least) credit be put where credit is due concerning the original concept? (not even talking about royalties, but I'm guessing you're not going to go there)

Will the winning artist be able to sell those resin casts? Or even make new casts out of it and sell those? (not saying I would but, just covering all bases here)

In fact the miniature sculpted from the concept of the winner will be published and sold in the Maow Miniature's webshop.
The winner will receive ten copies of the miniature and a painted version by one of our best artists ...
There will unfortunately no royalties....We are an association and not a company. We do not publish miniatures to make business but simply for the enjoyment which it gets us. The low profits are used only to finance the production of new miniatures

All the above given. I like this idea a lot. Its not all about making money and getting royalties ( and im sure Garshnak was just curious) but about te enjoyment of the hobby. I will submit a drawing.

Concerning the judgment, every judge (we shall be between 6 and 8, designers and sculptors) will have to give his three favorite drawings and comment on his choices.
The winner will be the one who will have most points in the end.

No news for a long time.
We're really sorry
In fact, the sculptor who was in charge of the sculpture of the winning concept, did not make something good. So we had to find a new sculptor. It took some time because the sculptors are in high demand for Indiegogo or Kickstarter campaigns.
Anyway, we found one, and the sculpture is almost over
