When I first started posting here I looked over the PYP thread, and posted there. I only read the first couple pages, and then the last five because its soooo long. Now that I have been here awhile I have revisited the PYP thread. The reason for this is I had some gender related problems. I originally thought -
AlexiZ was a guy - thought Alexi was a guys name in Russia, and didn\'t know there was any female mini painters.
EricJ was a girl - he had a female Avatar and I figured it was short for Erica.
Fizl was a dude - the whole reason I\'m on the forums is because of her. We had a nice conversation PM after I commented on one of her minis. I even talked about a conversion concerning a pregnant maid... hope I didn\'t say anything degrading to females. After her back from India thread I realize she DEFINATELY is a women (and what a women ).
So, Ive gone back to reading the PYP thread in its entirety, a few pages a night. I\'m about halfway through and a couple things bother me.
There are a lot of people who seemed to be \"regulars\" here, who no longer are around. Nailpainter comes most prominently to mind; Gypsy and others. Is this a trend? Do people just up and leave a lot? Also, why is Chern ann gone? Is Grumb the same as Grumbold Ironbrow? Are the Finns the same person? Are the Dauber/Supervikes different people? How many people have more then one name here? I can assume that minimaker used to be Ming Hua? So many questions...

That was on page 7! Then glancing over at her 1860+ posts I can\'t help but laugh...
Some paople\'s links no longer work, most notably Sturm\'s (I\'m still wondering what that curmudgeon looks like). Most of you don\'t fit the stereotype, although there are a rather large number of eyeglasses at least there is no tape on them. Goatees are also ever-present, but no pocket protectors. I\'m impressed that most of you ARE good looking people, especially the women (Hubba hubba).lol
(I\'m also still confused by several peoples gender) lol
So my main question is - Why do so many paople leave? I have been a member of Gamewinners for awhile and people do come and go, but that is a video game site for the most part and people move on to other games. Even if you don\'t see them anymore you still see their post counts going up because they are just hanging out on another part of the site. But here, figure painting is a hobby, not a game. Why would people leave? ???
Last but not least, there was recently a BME rumor thread. I had asked what that was and he was explained to me. I thought he was a fairly recent phenomena, but on the PYP thread he is mentioned in the PAST TENSE! That means he hasn\'t been here in like a year. There are popular people who are never mentioned anymore.
Just goes to show - arseholes leave a bigger impression on our lives then nice people.
