i fenced for a bit once. wasn\'t much good only did it for a year or two. i used a friends breast guard once as fake breasts for a back to school party. the result was almost as bad as sturmhalo in drag. maybe worse. i had longer hair then and had it up in bunches. even had freckles painted on!! scary

i didnt think you could have your hand over your tummy, isnt that a red card?
:) maybe you have to be touching the vestments.

Unless you\'re fencing epee, then you\'re not covering target (except with more target) ;)

Yeah, I was an epee fencer, and yeah, he got a point for hitting my thumb.
It wouldn\'t be fare anyway if you drew blood and didn\'t get a point.;)

I got a red card for falling once.:D

worst goof was probably when just learning. My opponent and I both tried to flesh at the same time and both ran to the wrong side. We clotheslined each other and ended up on our backs but no one got carded because it was just too silly.

Hmmmmm....

How\'d this happen? I don\'t check on one of my threads for a few days and not only does it get hi-jacked into a fencing thread, but it has an attmpted takeover by the new Ebil Über-Viker! What are there, like thirty of them now?! lol

I did some fencing once.

Around my yard.

Stockade.

Came out nice. :D

Becca started fencing when she was six they took her in cause of her hand to eye coordination was great,Stefen started at 7 as well and stopped. I started fencing each time and enjoyed scaring all other opponents i am timid until you put a weapon in my hand, most targets ran from the stupid lack of fear I had ok maybe I had some anger as well:) I have found the same result in laser tag women are not considered a threat till they are in the face of the opponent with the evil eye thing :D

You\'re too late, we already know that. But please, please, on behalf of all the boys around, PLEASE, begging with tears in my eyes, just leave the meat and potatoes alone. The woman I mentioned in my previous post decided that in every subsequent bout, my box would be her target. :~( She paid for insult with injury and disfunctional fashion, but that didn\'t stop her evil intent - she was a honey badger through and through. :D

Anger is not good in a fencer.
I once fenced a woman and someone on her team who had beaten me earlier in the day said \"don\'t worry, he\'s easy.\"
So when I got the first point she got mad and when she got mad she got sloppy and I ended up winning 10-6. In fact I got a bronze medal in that tournament so I don\'t know what he was talking about.

You can use vengeance well though.
I was once fencing foil and the dude kept doing a parry 1 (disarming parry) on me. Sure, it\'s good to shake up your opponent by knocking the sword out of his hand once, but he did it like 4 times in a row. All that does is stop the bout while I pick up my weapon and wastes everyone\'s time.
So, being an epee fencer, I deliberately jabbed his knuckles a few times. Sure it\'s off target, but he wasn\'t used to a sore hand and his game was crap after that.:D

(there should be an \"evil grin\" smiley)

Sounded like he was trying to psych you out, and screwed up his partners brain instead. Usually when people start the \"trash\" talk thats when I open up a can a Whupass! lol

Oh, could that have been what he was trying to do? I never thought he may have known I overhear the comment. Maybe he meant me to.
I have a similar reaction. My greatest moment of athletic glory (and also my greatest sports injury) came when my own team captain said \"You\'ll be fencing Harvard\'s number one fencer, but don\'t worry, you don\'t have to win because Rob and I will win our bouts.\" Of course once he said that, I DID have to win. And since he won his but Rob lost his, it was a tied tournament with me against Harvard\'s best up for the final match of the day.
To make a long story short, I won 5:3 with a red card against me, we took the tournament, and I had to be carried out.
