Confrontation Orc Bruiser

There were a lot of firsts for me with this mini....
http://www.coolminiornot.com/110682

I copied the flesh tones from the orcs in the Confrontation catalog, and got my tattoo ideas from them too.
I was actually afraid I would screw up my paint job by adding the tattoo, the red around the eyes and the pink lips, but I was in an experimental mood. It was the first time I was really happy with the blending of two very different colors.
The copper NMM was a new thing for me and I had fun adding the greenish patina, hoping the whole time that I wouldn\'t screw up the look of the axehead.
The base is 30mm with gravel. Nothing exciting there.

??? I did notice when posting it here that though the pictures were crystal clear and sharp on my computer, when I posted it here, it sort of got a bit blurry. If anyone can give me a tip on how to post pix and keep their clarity, I would love some input. Thanks. :D

Touch too much green on the axe for me but other than that I really really like this piece!

Mind sharing the colour build for the axe (not the green just the metal)?

Copper recipe

I first painted the axe head with Reaper Linen White (one of my new favorite colors). I then washed some water over the surface, applying Reaper Rust into the moist surface and letting the water help me with blending. Getting the Rust to an almost transparent consistancy, I repeated the step to darken certain areas. After that, I used GW Scorched Brown for the darkest shading, back to Reaper Linen White for the highlights, and GW Skull White for the final brightest highlights.

First of all, nice model. I like the way you did the NMM, kind of fresh.

I\'m not an expert or anything, but I think your pictures are bigger in reality that on CMON. Try to make them a bit smaller, so the page doesn\'t have to do that.

you could try using a purple wash around the eyes instead for red for a more natural look.

other than that, realy nice paint job.

the halberd looks cool mate, might just give that style a try some time.

Accidentally posted twice!!

I just found out this guy was accidentally posted twice. What a bummer that a bunch of votes ended up on the second one which I felt I had to remove, because it was literally the exact same picture.

I don\'t suppose I could beg for more votes? :bouncy:
