Confrontation Phoenix

I recall seeing a piece of news several months ago that Coolmini at Gamma announced that it would be releasing a new/updated version of Confrontation along with a range of models in a non limited edition format (Legacy.) The Ravage magazine seems to confirm this but since the initial announcement I have found zero in terms of updates. Does anyone know what is going on with this project in terms of timelines, new rules or any information not found in the initial presser?

i have been thinking the same thing, as my favorite game ever im chomping at the bit to know.

hopefully this thread will make it to CMoN admin for a good solid answer.

the www.confrontationphoenix.com website still says coming soon as it has for several months. i didnt see anything for it at GenCon 2012 on teh schedule (but that shit was sooo long who knows if i missed it)

also im wondering if they will be releasing press packages for stores to demo etc. that would be a great idea imo to get the news out there and some much deserved attention from the miniatures community.

With Gencon in my backyard I'll be checking it out so it would be great to see some sort of progress on the release there. It just seems compared to the other projects they have going on that it is strangely quiet.

Yes it does seem super quiet.... one might say to quiet! >.> <.< >.>

@Funnymouth; that would certainly be interesting, difference is they already have molds, precedent for game details, etc. seems like a kickstarter would be awkward imo. but hey if it gets the game released sooner and i get some phat lootz in the process from a dona. why the hell not right!

ah, but thats exactly nwhat you need to have a good kickstarter - everything ready to go so people can see what they are going to get! the recent success of sedition wars, zombicide and SDE kickstarters owe a lot to that exact strategy. KOW just completed a solid kickstarter as well. it really depends on what you need - some people need cash to get the ball rolling with money for sculpting etc, some people need an "event" to build excitement and expand on what they have. studio mcvey had all the sculpts in metal and resin - the big injection of cash from the KS allowed them to tool plastic molds for bulk production. the same thing could easily work for confrontation, and people would be more than happy to buy in and get a complete faction right off the bat, me thinks.

Too quiet indeed. It actually worries me a little for them to make the reveal at GAMA and to have so little come out since. I would certainly feel more comfortable if there was a clear plan being executed that I could see. Frankly, I'm kickstarted out lately. Just feels like companies have been over using the business strategy.
