Confrontation question (Aarklash gazetteer?)

Hi all. I\'m looking for a book that is effectively a gazetteer/atlas of the Confrontation world of Aarklash, with info on the history, peoples, geography, maps, etc. I was recommended the 3rd edition rulebook but it has very little \"fluff\" to it. What is the book I\'m looking for?

Thanks!

I think there was something like that in the Ragnarok box set. Or something. Might also be worth checking out the Cadwallon and Dogs of War books, perhaps?

Yea it was called Arklash, it came with Ragnarok. Get hold of some old cry havoc\'s for fluff as well as great tutorials and game ideas.

just saw you´re question

even so rackham wrote some really good (and sometimes even hillarious ) Background, the amount is laughable at best. there only a few sources

-The aarklash source book Mr Scream and Amazon warrior are reffering to. This came with the Rag Na Rok Box, which was Rackham ´s Attemp on their own \"Warhammerlike \" Rank´n´File System and also contains the rules and al lot of gaming aids. You may find it on ebay or some onlinestores. It´s 128 pages of excellent Rackham graphics , a short general history of recent events and the struggle of the gods as well as a few pages about every race. It also contains the alphabet of every people

- Cry Havoc! , theyre gaming magazine, the first issues were more an artbook (the last pages were reserved for amazing paintings and sketches, simply beautifull). Every issue also containts short stories, background and characterportraits . Try to find the FIRST issues which is number 1 - 8

- the tiny rulebooks for Confrontation 1 and 2 delievered for free with every blister also had some background/ short stories

-finally, the stat cards often had some story fragments that were very well written

- there is also \"Cadwallon\" The rackham RPG. I didn´t reads it , but it should also contain background not only aboutthe city Cadwallon but also onh the different people

AND of cause you can ask me. Seriously, i was really into Confrontation for a long time, i even worked as a freelancer for the german distributor, explaining the game and playing test games with players
If you got a specific fluff question, pm me . I might be able to help;)

Hi Farin. I mainly just want to check out what the world is about--I discovered Confrontation minis a few months ago and absolutely love \'em; in fact, they\'ve kind of ruined me for everything--there are other lines I like but everything is a distant second.

Sounds like I need to find that Aarklash book from the Ragnarok starter set; I\'ll also see if I can find a cheap copy of Cadwallon as that probably has a lot of what I\'m looking for. Someone recommended the Confrontation rulebook which I just got in the mail today--I was a bit disappointed at the lack of \"fluff\" but it was worth the cost ($11 incl shipping) for just the pictures of amazingly painted figures.

If I have any specific questions I\'ll PM you--thanks for the offer.

Yea I forgot to mention Cadwallon and the secrets books (they were like GM guides) they had loads of stuff about the gods etc and what was really going on in Arklash and Cadwallon. Cant give to much away but Cadwallon holds many secrets.

Also they did 2 novels (ashes of wrath and fault of the kaiber ?) These came with Limited edition models and laid down some more history.

forget the two novels.

I own and read both, and their mediocre and don´t tell you much about the background. In fact , alll the fluff you will find in there you will also find in the Cry Havoc! Magazins

@Alchemist: I know what you mean - Rackham minis are probably the best minis you can buy , and if it wouldn´t be for rackham´s own stupidity (sounds harsh but it´s the truth) they would still be out there producing minis instead of plastic toys :cussing:

Oh and what the world is about ? simple:

In the beginning the gods and mortals lived together

gods started fighting

something bigger and more powerfull ( the game designer :D ) got mad at them and invented time so the gods had to leave the realm of the mortals to avoid dying

Gods invent faith to bypass the problem and manipulate mortals to fight they battles

Ar Tolth, God of the Dirz ( maybe known under many names , but that´s on of the secrets you should try and figure out yourself, it´s more fun ) says:\" screw you \" and lets his followers do the Dawn Ritual which brings him back into the realm of arklash. Unfortunately as prophecy tells , this means also the beginning / Dawn of the last age witch will end the world

So it´s good vs. evil, light vs. dark or as Abba said: the winner takes it all lol

there are of cause many subplots and some secrets that will never besolved thanks to rackham
