I have to say I never believed CMON ranking was the truth: IMO CMON is mainly a great source of inspiration for all miniature painters.
IMO there are maybe 10 or more painters on CMON who deserve to be at #1 of ranking, and IMO Alexi is one of them.
I don\'t care if she obtained her super high votes also because she is a very beautiful(and wilful lol) girl: no doubt her painting technique is amazing and only this counts!
So I,m looking forward to see her miniatures live in Paris , if she will be there...

Alexi_Z is ranked #1 right now with 9.73 on my computer with no mini over 9.6. Is the system a bit poopoo today? Or has the \"anti sniping system\" got rid of some excess spamming votes and the rank is going to update tomorrow?
Tough competion in the top 50, but Alexi is definately one of the best. I think I will do my own top 50 ranking, for fun.

Somehow, of all people I don\'t see it.

And it is not hard to assume that Alexi\'s scores should expect movement. She has been in constant controversy in the forum, especially with the CCV. She does show you tons of pictures of her, which I am sure it helps, and above all, she is one of the most prolific submitter out of the top 10. So it is not so shocking to be honest.

Because the Top artists tabulation is not live, it is done once a day I believe, and since people figured out that she is #1, alot have been busy at work to bring her scores back down, so as we speak, some of her higher scoring stuff have been brought down. You guys are some of the most jaded people I have ever seen.
I am sure that the scores will fluctuate, but unless the other top 10 artists start submitting new stuff, it is inevitable that Alexi will take the top spot.

Ok, i\'ll not be sarcastic and just come out and say what I\'ve noticed. I\'m sorry, I can not believe what\'s been going on with Alexi\'s scores are the natural results of voters. (new photos or not)
1) she has not posted a mini that is in her top 5 in more than 5 months, so her jump in ranking is not due to new minis.
2) her score in the ranking was between 9.58 and 9.61 for many months with those same 5 minis determinings it up to and including one point late last week. There is not new minis now either.
3) Over the last few days, and yesterday in particular several of those posts in her top 5 jumped .1 or .2 in their rating which is huge when you have a 9.5 or 9.6 mini with 400+ votes. A little math tells me to increase your score by .1 at that level takes at least 75-100 consecutive 10\'s
4) Over the last few days those minis in her top 5 making up her have jumped in vote count significantly, much much more than you\'d expect (I have a 9.7 mini which gets maybe 1-2 votes a day if it\'s lucky)
5) Yes her minis are back down today in their ranking today, as borg says dropping her overall ranking to 9.65 from 9.73 (which is still way up from what she\'d been at). She is at about 2400 total votes between her top 5. My math says that drop would have taken A LOT of consecutive 1\'s to achieve, spread over her top 5. I don\'t believe there are many snipers in the forums, so I can\'t believe this topic would have inspired much of it. I know the site has an \"anti voting too much for your minis in too short a time\" algorythm as well as the anti sniping one. It seems to have kicked in, although I don\'t know the specifics of how it works.
6) It\'s not hard to vote for yourself multiple times if you put your mind to it, there are IP masquerade programs, or simply finding a number of different IP\'s.
I only have noticed these things because I do go to Alexi\'s galery a lot because I often reference her minis for help with my own efforts. Such significant jumps one way or the other do not happen naturally at that level in the ranking, I\'m sorry, I\'m convinced Alexi has been cheeting in her vote in the last week.
Say what you want, change the subject if you\'d like to talk about her photos, but she\'s doing what Robius did, and he got torch and pichforked off the site. Sure it\'s perhaps not to the same extreme, but it\'s close. Rating minis is at the heart of what this site offers and she\'s displaying a complete disregard for it.
Those are my thoughts without the sarcasm.

Could it just be that more people are on CMON during the easter break? I know I for one have been on much more often this week, since I\'ve been on leave and its actually the first time in ages that I\'ve been able to spend time voting. An unlikely cause I know, but still, it might be worth looking into.
idd, sarcasm aside you make very valid points ericJ. The reason I can\'t believe anyone would do this is that 1. Alexi is allready one of the most respected painters in the entire world, so why would she try and get her points up by .1 ? I mean, I\'m allready happy with my 8.6 and 8.5, why wouldn\'t she be happy with 9.5 ?
I simply can\'t believe anyone would occupy him or herself with such things. there are far more important things in life than ratings on a friendly site. but then again I can\'t believe people occupy themself with sniping.
I\'m not saying you are paranoïd, I think you make excellent points and expect very varied comments on this. I just don\'t see why anyone would do such meaningless things.

Now, now (handing out torch) Lets not jump to any (passing over a pitchfork) conclusions (another torch over here please). I don\'t think (pitchfork for him please) there is any reason to not (another torch and pitchfork) view this reasonably (passing torch and whip).

I do know this, there are some incredible intelligent people here when it comes to figuring out whats going on. I was very impressed when the facts starting stacking up against Robius....I\'ll defer judgement until Matt Varnish Private Eye and the rest of the gang figure it out...

What I suspect is that, instead of all of a sudden getting a slew of high votes. Alexi might be experiencing some lowball scores as a backlash on her forum appearances. That might have prompted an audit, abnormal low scores dropped, and hence the change that you see.
For what is worth, it is rather unfair to compare Alexi to Robius. Anyone can see that Robius\' scores were padded, especially on those wierd sculpts. But Alexi\'s latest paintjobs are pretty reflective of what the scoces are. Like her or not, she is churning out some pretty amazing work.

Please please no one think I\'m trying to say Alexi isn\'t a great painter, I use her work for motivation and reference all the time, I believe she earned her top 10 spot, and I\'d love to see her EARN a #1 spot because it would take 3-4 outstanding, original and ground-breaking minis for her to do so.
However I think it\'s honestly VERY easy with a little computer know how to trick cmon. I don\'t know how to do it, but out of curriosity I asked a friend who I thought would(has linux knowledge), and he managed pretty quickly to set up something to vote for a the same mini 10 times in about 2 minutes from the same computer. (he\'s got a masters in computer science). After I saw him able to do that once I did make him swear no matter what never give me access to that ability.
I\'m not compairing her to robius himself, he didn\'t have near her talent. I am compairing what she\'s doing with the voting to what robius did with the voting (ie padding like crazy with 10\'s)
