Contest 4 mini, and first rackham

Hi all

I dunno if I am an ignorant fool, but can it be right that there still is only 4 or 5 submissions to the cmon 4 contest?

I have also painted and posted my very first rackham. And I must admit, that I don\'t really feel like painting anything else than confrontation mini\'s for the rest of my days...they are great sculps.

Aw man, that\'s nice. I\'m basically done my CMON 4 mini but it\'s nowhere near as good as that. But I\'m afraid to try and redo some of the paint job in case I screw it up or drop it or something :eek: Not much time to strip and totally repaint before Monday...

She is also a very, tiny, little thing... you cannot make to many mistakes or repainting and it\'ll ruin her. I found her a very challenging task...

Nice work Rune! I already voted and commented on your Rackham piece.

I was going to participate in the CMON competition, and have spent lots of time on the mini. But... I did some disastrous decisions and screwed it up! :mad: Now, I\'ve lost motivation for it and have set it aside. I\'m going to strip the paint off it and start over at some time, though... It\'s too good a mini to be left unpainted.

... grumble, grumble, and I was damned pleased with the face and all... :flame:

So tiny... like a little pewter Audrey Hepburn. Yes, that is basically the problem, my luck has held out so far and the un-pinned glued-on limbs haven\'t broken off (except once just before I basecoated), and the un-pinned glued-on weapons haven\'t broken off (except once just after I basecoated) and it looks pretty good so I don\'t want to tempt fate...

Sorry, I guess I\'m supposed to be talking about Kaple\'s mini here, not mine :D

Oh yeah, Anders - I know that feeling. When a mini starts out promising and then something go awry...it feels like such a waste!

The moment when you realise that you ruined the mini you\'ve been working on for days is really horrible. Makes you want to break something! lol

I think she looks really great! love the eye markings......adds character......

Sets the standard in the competition definately.
Hope there will be more last minute entries - mine should be finished on time......

jeez...........that just finishes the competition! i spent some time pondering on how i would paint this mini, messed it up a few times, got rid of the stuff i couldn\'t paint and then made some snakes to make up for the sheer cruddyness of my paint job. RE-sculpting the nose! man how good is your eye sight? i dropped her once and couldnt find her for days...................(well like 1 minute, but it she took longer to find than an ordinary mini on my carpet). So only 5 submissions ...........is this true? my entry only took me 4 hours to paint so i\'m chuffed that i didnt spend more of my life on this mini to then be blown away by Kaple\'s effort. anywho here it is.selina

I\'ve finished mine, and I\'m gonna post it today, hopefully. I\'ve been pretty busy, but it\'s so small that I could sit down yesterday and basically finish everything. There\'s probably gonna be a wave of people trying to upload it over the weekend...

EDIT: Whoops, nice minis, by the way. :)
