Still looking for ideas...

pictures or tutorials on how to make a \"afterburner\" blasting... I want to make some battle armor for battletech looking like they are launching - but with smoke and flame... not just crappy flame or whatever. Thanks for idea inspiriation.

My current thought would be puddy for both flame and smoke... the smoke would be tiny tiny balls of puddy just stuck together, and the flames would be a cone, that is sliced up with scalpel to resemble flame.

Off the top of my head, I know Shawn R. L. has done a bunch of cool flame and smoke work; you could PM him and ask him to reply with his method, if you like the way he does it. Here\'s a bunch of examples of his stuff:

I just had a stray thought (I get those). You could always create a mold out of sculpey or some other clay and use water effects to create a translucent \"cone\" for after burners. If you wanted to be really creative you could mount a small light inside the cone between the fuselage and flame, making it glow.
