Controversial subject matter...

this is a well sculpted, and well painted mini...

i\'m amazed at how civil the conversation is here...over on dakkadakka a couple weeks ago, a guy posted pics of a guard army that he painted up with some WWII german imagery and propoganda posters on the tanks...he also included some soviet imagery in the same army...

within a day, there was a seperate thread where the guy got slammed as bein\' a neo-nazi...the sides immediately polarized, and began to attack each other personally, for 10 pages!!! it got real ugly real fast...
how one makes the jump from a guy paintin\' some images, to livin\' a life of hate, when ya don\'t even know the guy makes no sense to me...

things here have been much cooler headed...i\'ll say the same thing that i said about the guy\'s work on dakka...

while this guy is well painted, it is not a subject that i find inspires me to wanna paint...that is my estimation of a cool mini...the harshest criticism i could give on this mini, is that it is a waste of time and talent...there are much cooler minis out there to spend time paintin\'...

the coolest aspect of this mini, is that it\'s the first we\'ve seen of this sculpt around here, so kudos to the painter and sculptor for breakin\' the ice with a fig that they had to know would be reviled by part of the community...

if it wasn\'t for this mini, we wouldn\'t have had the wise words shared by the queen of credits and dragonsreach...

It\'s just a historical figurine, I think history is interesting to some people, and they can paint whatever they they think is cool. I can\'t believe people would say that on that other thread, it\'s quite lame... that\'s like saying I play Company of Heroes and crush the Allies with my Panzer and Tiger tanks, so that makes me a nazi hate the Jews war monger... stop that silliness right now! It\'s just gotten too silly....
I don\'t think humans have learned, senseless killing, religious fanaticism or any fanaticism, people living like \"sheeple,\" it all still exists today. Stupid crazies are still being put in power, I mean look at G.W. Bush! How the hell did he get elected... TWICE..... ???
I think I will go watch the Monty Python sketch of \"Hilter\" now... LOL John Cleese is hilarious!

very true. although i wouldn\'t say the figure is shit, just nothing amazing. he does seem to be leaning forwards too much though imo.

Been there, done that. I painted up a small platoon of Death Korps and used a bunch of kit parts I\'d been given(tiger tank turrets, half-tracks) to convert a couple of transports and tanks. I had a pile of WWII German decals that weren\'t going to be used on anything else, so I stuck them to the vehicles. The unit looked great and fitted in with my Stalinist Russian unit (based on the other IG figs that look Russian) really well. Painted my Cadians up to look like Yanks too. The army looked like a right rag-tag multi-national/planetary force.

A few people commented on the Germans. I countered that people game WWII all the time. Is anyone with German miniatures a Neo-Nazi? What a crock.

I was slightly disconcerted when I Ebayed them and a chap in Germany bought them though.....

I have no problem with the mini. Now, if the painter had tagged the post of it with \"My hero\", or \"The greatest man to ever walk the earth\", then I would have desired to talk with him/her on why they thought those things about a meglo-maniacal dictator responsible for the deaths of millions.

Hitler is a historical figure, painting him doesn\'t say anything about one\'s character, but worshiping him does.

Kinda makes me wonder what would happen if I post a mini, say of Ghandi, Mother Theresa, or Dr. King (oh this one would be the one that would stir the pot the most me thinks) painted in my standard piss poor quality. Not disrespetful or anything like that, just really poorly.

Let\'s see here.. Haha I do have 4 or 5 of those human bombs here. Maybe I will paint them up, post them and see where it goes from there. Now if I had some rules for them

i like the figure, the way its painted gives an evil appearance (although some of that might be subliminal given who it is). Its not like they have painted him all warm and welcoming or running in meadows with fluffy bunnies. Is it a cool mini or not? well for me no its not cool but its a very well painted mini so i would score it highly.
No one bats an eyelid at all the deamons and kids with bloodsoaked chainsaws we see on here so another monster isnt much different is it?
