Thanks for the links, Spacemunkie. That is a terrible situation the girl is in - that child doesn\'t have a chance to survive, yet the laws in Ireland dictate she must carry it another 5 months, just to let it die.

I certainly understand why pro-life advocates feel fervently about their cause. It is a terrible decision to have to make, and it was very difficult for us. We felt that carrying the child to term only to watch it suffer and die soon after birth would be devastating for all of us.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

without reading the article, just from your comments it makes me think of the connection with \"right to die\" issues.

Just wondering. Are people who are for legal abortions generally also for a legal right to die? or is there no connection?

im sorry to hear that triede, my sympathies (and support) are with you.

get back in the sack and keep trying.

i certainly hope that the rights of other people in similar situations are protected.
