Conversion advice

I don\'t have much practice with conversions other than a few simple weapon swaps. I\'d like to try converting a Reaper Warlord Vale Guard to hold two swords instead of sword & shield.

I\'m worried about doing this primarily because the shield arm is a separate piece that will need to be pinned.

What would you recommend - pin first, then remove the shield & reshape/sculpt the arm? Or do the converting work & then attach the arm? I don\'t have a vice or anything to hold the parts while I work on them.

Definately remove the shield first. If you do it after attaching it when you cut it off you will most likely just break it off when cutting the shield off. What I would do is cut off the shield. Then using a real strong rubber cement (I use some stuff called Liquid Nails from a hardware store) attach the arm and position the sword. I use the Liquid nails because it is strong but when I want to take the part off for pinning it\'s easy with a knife or pik to remove all the glue. Then once pinned use a more perminant glue and proceed to puttying. Good luck.
