conversion idea

I have a great conversion idea...
I have allways thought that the Torquemada Coteaz model is a great sculpt and I have allways wanted to convert something cool with it.
so just this morning I got a splended idea. I was in my room lookin\' at my archaon and the slayer of kings. and I noticed that archaon has the same \'bracers\' as Torquemada Coteaz does. so I thought \"hmm... that would be awsome!\" and then I looked in the 40k rulebook for some more inspiration... then I saw mike andersons version :(
and I realized that it has allready been done. so I started thinking and I don\'t want to do an exact copy of it. so I strted thinking a bit more. and I strted thinking about what I have seen in my closest GW store (stockholm). and then I thought about something that one of the staff said. \'blue is the easiest colour for the eye to catch\', and then he showed me one of his minis. it was a magician that was making a blue magical fire.

so immagine this: Torquemada Coteaz with the slayer of kings in one hand and in the other, a blue magical flame.

the only problem is that I will have to sculpt the left arm (the one with the flame) since I don\'t know any arm that could fit the mini.
have you guys any tips for me?

and then I thought... it will still look very like mike anderson\'s version. so maby I will add some hair to it.

now I need a few advices and feedback. what do you think about the whole idea??

I have spent quite some time thinking about this as you might notice ;)

I look forward to get some replies :)

sounds like a cool idea...i like the model myself as well...you could use archaons left arm that holds his shield...i don\'t know it is of use to you in this conversion of yours...or use the inqusitors arm it self...just file of the eagle and do some re-sculpting of the hand to hold the fire/flame/magic thingie...also maybe in stead of giving him hair you could sculpt him a nice mask/helmet and do the glowing eyes effect to match the blue flame...just my 2 coppers :]...also the demonic pattern in the sword could be painted in a blueish light...good luck!

yeah, I was thinking about filing the eagle of aswell... though I think I can make him have glowing eyes even without a helmet.
the face is my favorite part of the mini to paint you see. you can do such an expression with a perfectly painted face you know :D

maby the hair idea wasn\'t that good... I was thinking about the hair that electrolito sculpted on one of his bikers heads. I will have a bit more though about that

I am thinking about how to do the modelling since I still have to order the components from the online store...

anyway. so far so good :D

Ok just because Mike Anderson has done a version doesn\'t mean you can\'t attempt your own as long as you give credit to him for the inspiration.

One of my Planned Gamesday Projects is based on the work one of the Staffers at my local GW has done. I think it\'s a great piece and having spoken to him he\'s ok with me taking my inspiration from it.

Larre, just go for it, we\'ll look forward to seeing it.

nice :)
yeah, I have to give mike andrson some credit for the inspiration source. but still I think that it would be more fun not to do a completly \'rip-off\'.

I too look forward to see it :)
I might order the components within this week. but I have to ask dad since I have no mastercard myself :(
