Converted FW terminators, eventually with display base

Hello CMON, this is my first post here in the forums, some may or may not know me from elsewhere though as I do post on a few other forums :)

Anyhow, here\'s one of my projects that I am currently working on. Some Death Guard terminators that eventually will get a display base to go on. I\'ve only done one display base before so I want the practice (and it was fun!). Also any tips on how to improve my sculpting would be much appreciated as this is my first attempt at sculpting (other than filling gaps between two parts).

Introducing, terminator 1:

Since these pictures I’ve done some minor work around his waist where the loincloth meets the mutated part.

Here\'s some pictures of his victim:

Blurry but just to give you and idea:

Terminator 2, before greenstuff:

And that is where I currently stand. I\'ve already begun sculpting the missing parts of the guardsman and will post updates later today with progress on that. In the meantime any feedback is appreciated!

cheers!

Looking good pete, the first one looks like it could do with some bluking out around the hips, but i really like the hunched over look. The termi grabbing the guardsman looks amaing.

Hope all is well in the army,

Great idea. Really like the second one. The face on the guard is perfect for the scene.
Keep it up, will be watching with interest.

Cheers guys! Nice to have a familiar face around as well squig hunter.

I\'m by no means done with the sculpting yet, but I have learnt that waiting for it to dry before moving on when you\'ve done some means less fingerprints all over the place :)

So here\'s some WiP shots for you, quite a bit left to do but I\'m getting there :D

I added a small pouch to the waist on terminator 1, was planning to use the decapitated head from the ork sprue but it just didn\'t look right. After that I wanted a pocket from the SM range but it looked out of place so I made a small pouch from GS, I\'ll post pictures along with the finished terminator 2 later today :)

lookin good, are they all goin to get mounted on a display base?

Also, are you on leave atm? Not seen this much work from you in ages!

Alex

Jupp, I\'m on leave until wednesday so I\'m taking the opportunity to do as much as I can untill then :D (for those that do not know, I\'m doing military service so usualy don\'t have much time left for the hobby)

Done, the bottom of jacket on the guardsman didn\'t come out perfectly smooth, hopefully I can hide that when it comes to painting.

Now, on to the next one I suppose :)

I agree, the poses are pretty darn cool. You really should do something to disguise the joint in the back of the models though, the stretchy stuff is covering a mighty big gap there and it looks a bit funny. Some tubes/pipes/guitar wire kinda stuff could probably get the job done rather painlessly.

Hurray, my camera is back from service! Or well actually it isn\'t as they simply gave me a new one (one that actually works  ) but no matter. Update time! (note that all pictures are taken with flash as the camera seems to insist on using it

As I\'ve already been experimenting a lot with these fellows (sculpting and whatnot) I decided to try out something new when it comes to painting as well, white undercoat. Not so sure I like it but then again I have been using black always and forever. It might just be one of those things I\'ll have to warm up to as I am quite satisfied with the results. I have also tried out a wet palette for the first time but as I made it myself the results were... varied at best. So as I feel more comfortable with my regular ol\' palette I switched back to using that after painting the whitish armour. The white on the armour is, by the way, the only thing I\'m somewhat done with. I am currently painting the face and skin as I wasn\'t satisfied with my first attempt. I\'ve also begun work on the display base but pics of that will follow later.

Comments?

Yeah, I\'ve tried to cover it somewhat on the second guy but I left this one as it is. I do agree with you though.
