Im looking for ideas to make an vampire count army out of another army. I found a cool link to a Undead/High elf army that looked very good but I already have a high elf army so Id like to find somehting new.

Im mostly into painting and id love to try an army fully converted. Any suggestions? I would also love links to websites with ideas and pictures of already converted warhammer armies.

Im thinking Bretts would look very cool in undead...

Thanks for the help

bretts and empire would probably be the easiest considering the amount of plastics available.

chaos could be fun too. the power of chaos keeping them fighting even after their death... also undead beastmen would be cool and probably not too difficult. and you can use the tzeentch flamers as ghosty type things if you paint them in bluey greys. yeah. go for the chaos

I\'m working with a mixture of boxed sets with my up and coming VC army. Mainly Bretonian peasents, old Chaos warriors, zombies, skeletons, empire militia, and dark elf warriors mainly.

Let me tell you some of the results;
1) If you want to use more than the skeleton heads, don\'t mix them with bretonian peasents.
2) Old chaos warrior legs, arms, and heads look great with skeleton ribscages put in there.
3) Dark Elf warriors are a little puny so look awkward when given anything from the skeleton boxed set.
4) Zombies and empire militia mix well.
5) Zombies and skeletons mix well.
6) Skeletons and orcs look funky.
7) Bretonnian pesents and Dark elf warriors look good enough when converted on their own.

Anything else?

So heres something out of the box. Undead Ogres. Each ogre would represent a 2 x 2 zombies or skellies.

Of course doing the cav may be a problem and the characters on a 20 mm base would be a worry as well. But hey it might work.

-Bretonnian or Empire Knights do well as Black Knights (just add a skull or other skelly bit here or there), besides it\'s pretty much the only workable way of having WYSIWYG Barding. Plus, old Bret Knights work just as well, and you can get those dirt cheap from ebay.
-Chaos warriors (old or new) are fine for Grave Guard. You can even have the Halberd-armed ones. Only problem is to line them up on 20 mm bases, as they are quite bulky.
-Empire Soldiers or Militia make great for mix-and-matching with zombie or skeleton parts.
-You can do pretty much anything to represent ghosts... Empire flagellants work fine, but since they\'re metal, they\'re not exactly cheap. I used a box of Dwarf Warriors, put 3 each on one 40 mm base... give them a nice ghostly paintjob - done!

I guess you can do a complete army based on a single other army, but I liked the idea of mine picking up forces wherever they happen to lie around :D
