Converting to Rosemary and Co, which brush?

Hi guys, given the recent decline in consistency of my faithful W&N series 7s :)'() I've decided to try out a Rosemary brush, my favourite old series 7 is/was the size 1, which I use for pretty much every job under the sun. I've had a look through the Kolinsky Sable section of the site, but rather than buy the wrong one first I was wondering which would be my closest replacement?

Or if there's another type of brush that any of you particularly love and would recommend?

Cheers!

None of the Rosemary & Co. brushes is really exactly like Series 7 (softer hair for one) but previous threads give people's preferred range from them. On the size front, this previous thread might be of help, W&N size 0 = Rosemary and/or DaVinci size...?

The best like-for-like replacement would be a brand that's made to be stiffer. My favs in brands you could easily get your hands on are the DaVinci Maestros (can't tell you the exact series#, sorry), Escoda (1208s for shorter, 1210s for longer bristle) and Blick's Master Sable.

I still think W&N series 7 are the best out there. :)
Well okay, what have you compared them to?

Best is obviously a subjective determination at the best of times, but the way I'd use the word Series 7s could no longer be accurately described that way (this is overall, not individual brushes).

My size one (can't remember what series off the top of my head) is my go to for just about everything. Good for general application, but the tip is so sharp I also use it for eyes.

Good point, can only compare them to rosemary, gw and kolinsky.
I suppose I was so impressed when I first used series 7 I'm a bit one sided :)

That'll change the first time you pay six quid for one that won't hold its point after two weeks

Lots more high-end brushes are worth trying, many of them somewhat cheaper than Series 7s usually are.

I don't think I've tried the series 323. The series 33 is so good I don't think you'll have any complaints after having a try. They're so inexpensive it really can't hurt to have a look. A #1 or perhaps #2 will work well for you.
