Cork Snow Bases

has anyone got any links or images about cork
being painted and drybrushed representing rocks and then you can see made snow kind of splashed on to the rocks, looking like its melting. This is how i want to do my bases on my wood elves. Has anyone got any images and links.
Also i am using the baking soda pva glue and water method to make snow, but does anyone know the consistency ratios, for example, how much baking soda, how much glue and how much is needed to be mixed.

Have a look in my gallery here. All of my ogres are on cork bases with snow on em. If they are what you want I\'ll show you how to do em..

I have done the baking soda with pumice mix on cork and ink washed and it smoothed the snow effect... and if not a good look for the osl Kinda like it was hit by heat, I would have been disturbed. Gallery(DA Boyz)
I would not clear coat it personally.
The GW stuff is more like static grass but white that I have dull coated over with no harm.

Thanks for the link. I found this, by accident, a few weeks ago and couldn\'t remember where. Now it\'s bookmarked.

Use white glue watered down over the top of the snow. It stops it breaking up and is semi gloss so It looks more snow like.

Just about an hour ago I did my first snow base. I sculpted the shape of the snow with magic sculpt. Then painted it white and shaded it with blue. Covered that with clear matte finish and dumped baking soda on. Now waiting for it to dry but it seems as though some of the shading will show through (which I was hoping for).

From my blog (blogger seems to be down right now so no link), the pic says it all really:

This is the baking soda method, I just tweaked the mix until it \"felt\" right... and it worked. That\'s an IKEA cork coaster in the upper left lol

The base ended up looking quite good with the mini itself:

looks very nice, i think there is too much snow though, still i like it, my cork that i bought is thinner, came in a meter long line.

Yes, if I re-did it I would use less snow. It was my first try and I got carried away... :)

yeh photography kind of sucks, but that looks really cool, i like it. That\'s not fair how come the dwarf gets a big base.
